ive noticed that people submit screenshots of their desktop and of hammer.. how do i do that?? how can i take a screenshot of my desktop or of hammer??? :

print screen for the full screen, or alt+print screen for just the window you have open.

Do what ministeve suggests. That puts the screenshot onto your clipboard as a .bmp file. You can now paste it (ctrl-V) into Word or Paint or PaintShop or whatever. Edit it to your liking (probably reducing the imagesize to something reasonable) and then save it as a .jpg to reduce the filesize.

Remember not to post huge pix on the site, though. ;)

What I do to get a screenshot of reasonable quality and size is to scale it down to 75% of the original size and then save it in JPEG format with least compression. It gives you a decent quality image with a low file size.

You put this .jpg on your webspace (if you don't have any, www.websamba.com offers 30 MB for free but there are other free hosts as well) and refer to the url with specific tags wich you can see on the forum help page.

Your desktop pic goes to the clipboard. You need to open your image editing utility and paste it into there, then save it as a jpeg.

where is my clipboard?? i take a screenshot of my desktop or window, then i see a slight flash then i dont know where to find the picture. :

open up paint and click edit then paste.....the clip board is anything stored that you have copied,cut or print screened :)

Press the 'Print Screen' key on your keyboard.
