I'll probably try to work my way into some mod teams, convert some of my old stuff and improve it...I'll try and push the engine to it's limits, that's for sure.

I'm starting a total conversion of HL2, concept are being finished, organizing my team. And just like RabidMonkey said, push the engine to its limits, which in HL2's case, will be huge.

I'd like to map a huge, spooky looking swamp like area at night - like the Everglades but dark and scary. In it would be a deserted, ruined power plant stranded in the swamp. The area will be full o' zombies waiding around waste deep. I don't know why, it just sounds cool :P

Actually a big killbox would be very good for testing the engine's limis. Think, you could check to see how good the engine renders things, what the max patches are etc.

OMG I wish I would have seen this before today! I daydream in class about what to make with the unlimited expance of source!

The first map I am going to make is going to actually be a box, HA! Its going to be preety big though. I am going to test all of the entity's and experiment my little heart out with it.

The next map I am going to make is going to be land and vehicle crazy. I am going to have a really big land area with a bunch of vehicles!

I don't know how far the idea's go in this one, but my next map (if I can) will be a gigantic ocean expanse with two aircraft carriers that are fully drivable and have guns and stuff. Of course and aircraft carrier cannot exist without an bunch of airplanes / helicopters and guns on it! This is my favorite idea yet, just because I think the idea of airplanes with guns and a sky battle would be AWSOME!

Now for the big daddy one. This one I ovbiously cannot do alone. I have 3 friends going in on this one. Due to the fact that there is such a big area that you can fill, my friends and I are actually going to map the downtown area of where we live! This will probably take a few months cause omg is it alot. There's going to be a tank that as long as your in it, your safe- with video cameras/screens inside of it to see out and (of course) a big cannon, and a 360degree rotatable machine gun up top. The tanks enemy is this massive ass helicopter with 4x missles that the driver controls, and theres 2 more machine guns on it if you can get a couple more people into it. This is going to have all sorts of vehicles in it which is going to be the coolest part. Since this is so big you really need vehicles to ever find each other! As soon as I started thinking/talking about hl2 in general that idea formed in our heads. This is really a big project and its going to be REALLY hard but omg my head spins off while I think about it - as you can see by all that I have typed.

I may be way over exagerating, but compared to the limits of the HL engine, in this you can do almost anything! I mean right now I am trying to think of things that I cannot make in HL2.

Btw, I have a question for you all. Does anyone know if you can like, have computer panels like in doom 3 or at least have a keypad that isnt impossible to use?

Panels: yes, although might need a little coding.

Incidentally, anyone who wants to see the cameras in action, there's an awp map for CS:S beta that has one in. Not too high quality, but the entity might be configurable, or it might just be my graphics card.

OMG yes, I have a stream of Ideas for HL2. The first thing I am going to do (as someone already mentioned is build a set of cages with a glass walkway overit and experiment with all the stuff. When I get my barings I'm gonne build a massive war torn enviroment with ppl shooting shit outa each other all over it. I may consider making several WW3 maps etc. :D

I really like the look of that Hull Breach MOD, and I was actually thinking about making somthing similar before I found out someone was doing it on a much grander scale. I think some of the first things I will do will envolve space and a giant ship crashing somwhere. I may even make a MOD based around a planet that is being invaded from space :D

OMG I cant wait for HL2 (who can) and I cant wait to get my hands on teh new Valve Hammer.

I am actually thinking of making a "movie" for half life 2. I can't really say whats its about because I haven't thought to much about it.

I forgot to mention that I am going to make a new de_bedroom, but this will be very much improved. Now the TV and computer monitor will have actual video footage as if there were hidden camera's around the room so that you can more easily find out where the other guy is hiding. And thats besides the little mini-panels that have their own camera's in various places throughout the level. (Big bro's always watching). This one is going to have so much more details and stuff than the other one.

Mainly what I am just going to love is the vehicles. That is what I consider the coolest part of half life 2 (laugh all you want!)

When HL2 comes out, I'll make a very big multiplayer map, depending on the new features we are offered. I'd like to make good use of water reflections, and push the r_speeds to higher standards (Terrain, trees, curved walls...)
I don't really know the theme of the map yet, and there's that problem with texture making (now you have to make materials)
Overall, it'll be a nice experiment. I do have a question: HL2 maps will surely have larger file sizes than HL1. Will TWHL increase the file size for the uploads, or will we all have to get maps from external links? :(

Im gonna map where im doing work experience at the moment, its in london and by a station, i might do a train jurney like hl. Yeah that sounds good, ow i have a good mod idea. zombies inner city london walking through undergound train stations, and other stuff come on hl2, get on those shelfs.

When? I checked with MicroPlay and they said probable 2005--thats too far... I guess its not on there new release list, which goes till dec.

errrr. I downloaded a clip though and I don't really think Ill enjoy it as much as the first one, Its beginning to look less like half-life and more like doom... Thats my opinion...

You really don't seem to sure about TWHL becoming HL2 compatible. It worries be because I have feared the same thing, but thought it was just me. I would really hope atom could do something new... I mean if this whole site was made in 3 days, a few updates could take all of, what, like four hours?

Well, Atom didn't make all the site.
Andy wrote alot of the entities.
Atom only wrote one or two tutorials.
The links page was made by Skeeve.

I understand that he made alot, but quite a few things weren't made by Atom himself.
