Put scroll in front of the texture name, and tie it to a func_conveyor.

If your texture is named announcements, then to make it scroll, you would name it scrollannouncements.

You need to name the texture scrollx as I've described, and additionally, tie it to a func_conveyor entity.

It doesn't like the texture when I compile the level, can it be named '-scrolfloor' or does it have to be 'scrollfloor'?

You have to add a speed to the func_conveyor to make it move.

tbh, you don't need to name it scroll at all, i'm sure any texture scrolls when tied to a func_conv.
