1. make it a func_wall
2. set it's "Render Mode" to "Solid"
3. set its "FX Amount to "255"

The tutorials availiable on the site will really help, particularly if you just need a quick burst to help you remember.

ya i know thats why ive been here for a bit. ive started a new senareo for hl and its big....i mean big.......well lets just say this is now at 27 level changes because it was taking about 14 to 25 min to load each part....funney thing is i cant bleave that i just now need this info this far in....lol well im now at the sewers with a huge twist so i hope to have this out soon!!!!.well not reall kinda like HL2 :D ;) :P

also, if you read the tut's you would see the func_illusionary and clip method, allowing you to shoot through the "fence"

it doesn't have to be any particular entity, just have a render mode of solid and an fx amount of 255 (to make the fence visible), as anythign rendered solid, instanly renders teh blue in a texture invisible (the correct blue taht is), also, additive renders black invisible
