Where's your sound file located?
What file format is it (should be 11025hz Unsigned 8bit wav mono)?
Did you fuck up in any dumbfucked maner?

In the future, you can make sure your sound is in the right format by opening it with sound recorder. Click filepropertiesconvert now to save it in the correct format.

As far as your ambient_generic goes, what do you have in the field that tells it what sound to play?

The sounds should be in

C:/Seirra/HALF-LIFE/modfolder/sounds/customsounds*/sound.wav
*Newly created folder.

Now if it doesnt work, then make sure the path in the ambient_generic is correct and make sure the sound.wav contains no spaces, if this doesn't work then its either your dll code or fgd is leading it to the wrong folders.. OK

OH and maybe you set up hammer for the original half-life instead of your mod---> Always a possibility.

There now check these very carefully ok, OK.
