Hey its the Brat again.
Is there a better way to make sounds that trigger. When I do it, the console says processing sound/C and takes forever, literally. What can I do to make a sound that triggers when you walk past it and does't take forever?
Thnx and sry for my stupid questions. :|

try not making the sounds C relative, they have to be halflife/valve relative (or the mod directory you are in) eg. sounds/ambient/something.wav

The game starts, but when you get to the place the sound plays, it doesn't! Why! :(

The format the sound is in is really important. Is this sound, something you have made, or is it from the Original HL.

[Seventh: clicky; hope that's the thread you meant, Andy. If not, use the forum search, query "mono".]

Try using wally to import your sound into the pak file and see how that works. If hammer has to process the sound it means it's pulling it from and external source. If you import it I believe it formats the sound and should work.

I had this error when I created SM. HL can't find your sound or it's incorrect. Chech all the paths. If your sound is in a pak file you could try exporting it. Use Pakexplorer which you can get at www.vlatitude.com to export the sound and place it in the appropriate folder.

Are you using a ambient_generic?

yes im using and ambient generic, and the sounds in the right folder. Its in a folder called BL(my Mod)/sound/ambience/talk1.wav.
I have made it myself.
I can't figure out whats wrong.
I am going to try and use wally, but no promises on me :)
