when i compiled my map and tried to play in it, it came up with an error saying something about me not having bottom.spr

The game couldn't find one of your sprites. Check it's path in Hammer.

Check the entity report for that sprite... does the env_sprite entity show up?

is that sprite your own?

is it in the right folder? ( /valve/sprites/bottom.spr)

Do you need it?
If not, then copy an existiong one and name it bottom.spr to make a fake

yea i think i need it cuz it says "Fatal Error: Mod_NumForName: Sprites/bottom.spr" how would i do that Check it's path in Hammer.

O and i am working with Steam not 1.5 (Steam- CS 1.6)

That sounds as though bottom.spr doesn't exist in the 0pak that your using. If you have made/borrowed this sprite from somewhere else, it needs to be placed in the folder you have selected it from in the env_sprite.
And as Kol said above... but isn't there something screwy with steam and cached pak files...???

Well it is in beta stages so there's bound to be some things (most actually) wrong
