hi, i just started "trying" to map and i read some tutorials. but im having a problem with lighting up an outdoor area, i created a test map with a room leading outside, and tried to use a light_spot entity with "is sky" on, but when i compile the map its completely dark, other than the sky texture, i know im prob doing something totally noobish, but could any1 point me in the right direction? :nuts:

The "is sky" setting doesn't really work the way most people believe it does. :)

ahh, thanks a lot, so if i wanted to light up an outside area, or change the light in the area, how would i?

Light_environment,
light_spot with "is sky" set to no

You can have two light_spot, you know ;)

um ok, i tried my test map, which is just pretty much a room.

With light_environment, and the map was pitch black, but when i compile with no light entities at all, the map is lit up :confused:

Can any1 point out where im going wrong?
