No, you just need the ZHLT tools to replace the Q tools you are using :)

http://zhlt.tk should have the latest ones.

a nother problem :(
what should the compiler do ?
save bsp ?
and bsp I should try to run with cs?
or maybe I my problem is that i use textures not from one wad...

Compiling CS maps..
Never works for me.. >_<
And I use ZHLT.
But my Valve hammer is 100% nuts.. Don't know why.

The compiler saves a BSP file, which you indeed should run in CS, or HL, depending on what game it is for.

You can use textures from multiple wadfiles as long as they reside in the proper directory - cstrike for CS and valve for HL.

I tried loading the map with cs 1.6 , but it just stoped loading.... :(

I made a simple box with player spawn and a light, I jused only 1 texture and cs just stops loading. its definatly for cs. what could the problem be???

So many problems in trying to create your own cs map :confused:

Stops loading, eh? Try running with -console and see if there are any error messages. And make sure your player spawn is above the ground a little. If that fails, post your new compile log.

I can't send you any of my maps seeing as I'm in school at the moment - and I don't have copies of them online.

Ok, according to your Compile Log, you've screwed up the Configuration settings for Hammer. Consult the tutorial here and fix it up.

Anthony My problem was that I didn't have the needed tools.
I've downloaded theese tools and my hammer now makes bsp but I don't know what's wrong with it, because: when I try to load it with cs 1.6 , it just stops loading...

As far as i know, its got to do with your version of drivers - i think.

Happens only in Win2K for me. XP pro and 98 work fine.

Remember, its an old tool.

openGL is the best rendermode, but it should only be used if your pc can handle it (cant handle opengl mode on an 8 year old game?). direct3D is just like openGL, but decals and other effects are drawn as they would be in software mode.

as for software mode, its utter bollocks.
