Hey all,

I'm not to far into Xenophobia that I've decided to make the mod center around Adrien Sheperd (I know I spelled it wrong) instead of Gordon but to do that I have to change the gun arm to the one from OP4. I got the model extracted and in my mod folder with the same name as the weapon in HL1. I also have it so that after it compiles it starts the map in my mod -game xeno I beleve It is. But it still dosent work what should I do to get the effect I want?

well - if you just placed the models from opfor (with the right arms) into your mod folder under /models it should work ?

you need more than just the weapon models - you need all the models with w_ v_ and p_ in front of them. Maybe not w_ but all the v_ and p_ models:

Example:
v_crowbar.mdl & p_crowbar.mdl
etc...

p_ models are for third-person-viewed weapons (other peoples')
v_ are the pretty ones you actually see 'yourself' with
w_ are the ones on the floor

Which models are you importing, because only the models with the same names as those in HL will work as replacements. For instance, If you try to put in the pipe wrench (v_pipewrench, w_pipewrench, etc.) instead of the crowbar, even If you change the name, the models will not work properly. It's because the sequences don't match up. If you already knew that, please feel free to ignore me. :)

How do you switch arms in v models? Because every time I try they recompile doesnt work.

yes some models will not work correctly due to different animations.. such as replacing the v_9mmhandgun.mdl with a semi-automatic machine gun.. doing this may cause inconsistances and may not work correctly. The gun will fire however, the loading animations will mess up.
Anywho's now I'm dragging on.. I better end this before it turns pointless..lol

Well If I do the system for file structure will all change. Is OP4 mapping almost the same?

Pretty much, it is the same as HL mapping.
