i think its overheating. the BIOS will automatically shut down the PC to prevent any damage. if you know how to get it open, check the heatsinks and make sure they arent clogged with dust. make sure the fans are running and nothing is obstructing the intakes/exhuast.

Clean your heatsink and make sure it is attached properly. Clean your fan, as well. That compressed air stuff you can get from the office supply store is good here.

Reseat the cpu's HSF and apply thermal paste such as Arctic Silver 3 or 5. Use a very small vacuum cleaner to clean components and heatsinks/fans. Replace battery. If you still get problems I would suspect a dead power supply or something shorting out.

Arctic Silver 5 really works well. Since I put it on my laptops CPU heatsink, its been running much cooler and the fan just stays on low all the time now.
