FFVII was the best for the running around. I found it to be the most convincing of the FF worlds, and had the best enemy in it, and I preferred the materia system to the other ones. (ive only really played from 7 on btw) FF8 was devoid of all anime type humour or insanity and therefore the story ended up like Hollyoaks or Dawsons creek. FF9 i was never struck on at all, and FF10 was almost as good as 7. The only problem with it was the actual travelling all the time, instead of on the world map. Although it took ages walking across the world, it still seems far far smaller than the previous worlds. FFX-2 is a camp as hell. You'll start cross dressing if you played that too long.

I thought FFX was to linear, it was the same stuff throughout the whole game.go to temple, battle,go to next temple..
FFVII on the other hand... pure genious. best rpg ever perhaps

I have played the first part of FFV and FFVI, finished FFVIII and FFIX and gotten halfway through FFVII. I got bored though, since I had seen too many friends playing FFVII now & then and I get discouraged whenever I have to play a part of an RPG I've already seen someone else play

7 and 8 were the best ones. 9 sucked because i couldn't complete it, and 10 sucked because it just sucked. i mean look at the last boos! he's a boody purple spider! he's less than a metre in diameter! my brothers friends have managed to kill the bastard in one hit. it started off as a great game, but when you found out more about the story, it became immensly crap. 10-2 is no exception.

I just found them extrmely boring.

Id have to say FF6 was my favorite cause it was the first one I've played. Kefka was bad ass hehehe. Then after that I would say the order would go 8, 7, 9. I dont even count X and X-2 as being part of the series. Overall 10 was good, just the voice acting took alot out of the game. I didnt add the other older ones because I never played thru em all the way, but 4, from what Ive played, was pretty good.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, but obviously Final Fantasy Tactics is the best one. FFTA for the GBA was pretty lame though. It completely lacked a story line.
But if you want a "real" FF game, then, I've always had a soft spot for FF Mystic Quest. And definetly 5 and 6.

The best was FF7. 8 was pretty cool but i liked 7 better. 4,5 and 6 were pretty excellent too. 10 was okay. 11 kinda sucked. 1,2 and 3 i never really got into. I never really played 9 mainly because of the fact that the main characters where kids which seems kinda weird.
