But, can I use Hammer 4 to make maps for Counter-strike 1.6 if I use the counter-strike.fgd?

Umm I don't think so. You should use Hammer 3.5 beta instead. Atleast that's what is think.

Yes you can, but you probably want to load in one of the CS wads so you got good looking textures.

no u cant.... im pretty sure you can only use 3.5 and before.

Well, I don't take the risk of making a good map, and suddenly it appares that is can't be compiled for CS 1.6.. ^^
So, I'll just stick to hammer 3.5.. =)

Do. There's nothing in 4 that's not in 3.5 that can be used for HL1.

but if you set up hammer 4 right you still can map for HL1. but like previous posts said, some of the advanced features will be useless.

It would integrate it into one editor though... Eliminating the need for another editor for hl1.
