My Compo 22 entry.
Some errors, glitches, and tons of stuff I wanted to do with this map, I just didn't spend enough time on it. I wasted most of my editing time on pointless detail instead of the "meat and potatoes" of the map.
Things I wanted to do:
--Hitting "alt-p" on the keyboard would shoot "invalid errors" and explosions at you from the 3D window.
--Hitting "Z" would trigger a detailed camera sequence into "Hammer World"--couldn't make my mind up on what it should look like.
--Hitting "f9" would trigger blinding light in the level and trigger a cutscene to a nuke going off on the horizon--lol
--make it so you could walk "outside" the level, and look at the boxy exterior.
--Fully decorate the game room, and add a bathroom and other rooms, where zaniness would inevitably insue
Glitches:
-The wind sound for the "HOM" room turns on and off properly if you open the door once, but after that, it toggles incorrectly.
-The Gibshooter/Env_shooter seqquence causes"no free edicts" error pops up and crashes HL
-random brushing errors I didn't bother to fix
This crasht my HL.
Needs a lot of work to get it all working correctly...
Nonetheless, /me rates 4 stars for originality, even though you have rating disabled.
If you're ever gonna make a final version of this, you'll gain a 5 star rating from me.
very un-finished seeming..
The fire kinda sucked though ^^ a mini texture stretched to the max ;)?
well that was probably on purpose. The HOM effect made me LoL ;D
but the greatest thing was Worldcraft of course - I managed to jump into it, but never got out xD the gibs made my HL crash x)
those doors must have been a lot of work too when I think about it.
Yep, all those gibs cause the "too many enties" error, a.k.a. "no free edicts", and zaps you back to windows after some erratic engine behavior.
Otherwise, the map is pretty clean imo.
Quite right Hunter, this definitely belongs in unfinished...
<moving to unfinised>
Gib room crashed HL.
The Hammer room is very well made but so long as the fatal engine crashing problem remains I don't see this getting top marks in the compo.
Sorry.
3/5 (1 of which counts for the great brushwork.)
