Well, after.. quite a long (I forgot just how long) break from mapping, I've finally returned to it all fresh and ready to kick some ass.

And to celebrate, here's an old video I uploaded of ctf_volcano's interior!

I'm now running the final compile on Lab11_LavaLab ... or at least I was until I remembered something I wanted to include. One quick 18-hour recompile coming up. sigh

In other news, I said something a couple of Journal posts back about tweaking the HL SDK to prevent people from using buttons (or, more importantly, health chargers) through solid walls. I made some preliminary code available online since somebody asked for it, but I finally came to the realisation that it was my revised code that was preventing one of the switches in my level from working. (I ran the level under standard HL/valve and the switch worked fine!)

I have now fixed the flaw in the code, and made it rather more streamlined in the process. I can't find a problem with what I've done (although there is bound to be one, so use at your own risk!)

My modified code is here:

I got CoH: OF about a week ago and have enjoyed it since. I despite the game for dragging me away from my projects. I modded my CoH to obtain large pop. capacity so I can mass defense against 4 Expert AIs. :D

I submitted this screenshot for Interloper 'Dream' Map Battle Idea was to display gnomes and their haven. Now it would be great if I could give them different emotion and posing which I can't because I'm not modeler. :(

Late, I know, but whatever; I think Valve is really making an great effort to put the source modding community on spot like it once was with goldsource, yet they stimulate the current development of modding which I think is a somewhat negative development. For the simple fact they give mods a oppertunity to be hosted on steam and so opening them for a larger audience than they would have had when they weren't hosted I give them my thumbs up. However, the mods (5 atm, 5 more to come and perhaps more) that get hosted are big, populair and mostly total conversion mods with well-known concepts done so much before. That raises the modding standard once again which, for me, is a negative development. In the 'modding scene' there has been created this feeling of releasing a total conversion mod at first release. This is stimulated by gamers. Mods with a great concept but with stock HL2 enviroment won't be played anymore (unless it's something revolutionary), no, everything has to be custom at start, only then it is worth a play.... that's basicly the thought nowadays. This somewhat dissapoints me, because this puts many great ideas to sleep. Don't get me wrong, I like all those incredibly custom mods that get released (well, a lot I don't like actually, to name 2.... Insurgency is again a releastic middle-east shooter, Zombie Panic is sigh yet another Zombie game - I swear that people are fascinated with zombies) but I miss all those wacky smalltime mods people all gave a try back in the goldsource days. So yeh, i'm on a bit of hate-love feeling about the hosting of mods on Steam.

On a other note, Jailbreak! released a bunch of media from 0.5 - it is now a total conversion. Dinosaurs versus Robots, how random and brilliant is that! I'm a beta tester (woot, in one of the screenshots I make a comment in chat under 'Freshy Fresh' - LULZ, I R FAMOUS BIATCHES!) and I saw the mod grow. There have been quite a bunch of gameplay changes aswell, but all for the better i'd say. Personally, i'm a big fan of this mod (simply for the arcadish lulz supported by solid competitive gameplay) and hopefully it will be one of the next 5 mods to be hosted on steam. Anyhows anyways, you guys should give it a try when 0.5 releases. The community is very friendly and always welcoming newcomers. http://www.jailbreaksource.com/

Latest Team Fortress 2 blog entry is made of win.

I love the clip of the Scout going "He's like a bear! He's like a big, shaved, bear that hates people!".
God I love the creators of TF2.

I've been playing Saints Row 2 today (bar the morning due to female socialising) and It's pretty good! I was hoping it wouldn't be shit since Saints Row 1 was awesome.

It's pretty much Saints Row 1, but with airplanes, helicopters, base jumping, motorbikes and lots more!

So far there is only one dissapointment which is due to GTA:IV having such realistic driving, when you play Saints Row 2, it feels like the cars have super gripping tyres.

I also pre-ordered Farcry 2 and L4D, so all of this has set me back a little.

But who needs a car anyway. :)

20 years old today. Strange feeling knowing you're exactly two decades old, and only one decade away from being 30. D:

As promised, although a week or two late, I have finally retrieved some pictures of my tail lights on my car.
Keep in mind these were taken on my cell phone, which I dropped about a month ago, cracking the lens, so the blurs in the right of all the pictures is from that.
And yes, I know my car was dirty. It rains every time I get it washed, and I typically have to park it on the street, so it's covered in dew every morning, and the school parking lots consist mainly of dirt and gravel.

It's sad to say but yet again another of my cats has died.

Well, she is being put down now or so I heard...

We noticed she was getting bigger around the belly area and assumed we were just over feeding her but she had some disease which she most likely got from the shelter we got her from.

It's called Feline Infectious Peritonitis.

Her kidney was filled up with calcium or proteins...I'm not too sure and well she would have died a painful death. In other words she had a disease and there is no cure.

At least she had a happy 3 months, the only part that hurts is she had to spend her last day at the vet for examination and we left her there as she cried.

At least her other sister is still here with us but they said it is contagious.

She was the smaller cat anyway...She was small most likely because she wasn't getting any protein etc so...Oh well...

Her name was Tia and she was 2 years old we think. She had such lovely eyes...

Dumbass moves galore.

My car has a tinted back window, but the problem is that it was tinted by the previous owner, obviously on his own. From the outside it looks fine, dark as it should be. From the inside, it's blurry like a mother fucker.

Well today it was raining, and on top of that my usual parking space at school was taken.

This is where my intelligence comes in. After school I wanted to go out the long way, and the cars behind me had already left, so I went to back into one of those spaces so I could go out the exit I wanted to. Yeah well it rained all day and still was, so I couldn't see through my rear window and it didn't appear in my mirrors... the only car that was still there.

Yeah well luckily for me, I got home and checked, and there was no damage on the rear of my car... not sure about that buick.
