Hey all,

First journal.

I am here to just post about the exciting new release and update to my first ever finished map for any Goldsrc game.

You can view it here: http://scmapdb.wikidot.com/map:stixsworld

Oyea...I am also working on updating my above map again to v2 whilst also making my second map for the same mod...

My second map will be a map where all you can do is press a button that spawns enemies into the middle of map human and alien AI and well it will show you the badass new AI system given in v4.0 of the mod...

Players will not be able to interact at all with the AI...instead they will be forced to watch to see who wins, alien AI or human AI...and well who ever wins the map will end...but it will just be a map that does sumthing no other map does...purely demonstrate the capabilities of SC v4.0 AI system...

Those that state that the map Stadium 3 already does this are mistaken greatly...because in that map players still have complete control over everything...in my map players just have control of when the mega battle begins...

I also would like to point out that the IP:PORT for a server by me is now 69.31.15.225:27015 and it is for the mod Sven Co-op so yea...

You can play SC on steam...its how I play it...

If you have a steam account add me as a friend via that way...I hate using anything but steam friends...but was I use steam so much...

My steam name btw is the same as it is here

P.S. I am close to being done making my second map that looks to me like it is going to dominate my first map greatly...due to the sheer randomness it shall bring to the table...

Oh God. I HATE horde maps. They're always ugly as Hell.

Perhaps his looks better, Urby.
I like SvenCoop, but It never seems to work. :(

Well I hate to spend a lot of time with texturing...I spend more of my mapping time with just setting up spawns and what not properly to provide the best gameplay possible...because I mean if looks were so important...then hell might as well try to make a high texture level pong map with Goldsrc...

Yea itll be cool to look at but if it is the same thing over and over again and not really many any changes in it...then itll loose interest fast...

So, blocky rooms, awfully stretched radar textures and steel floors are interesting now?

Well if you want to, go ahead and take time to paint a portrait...me I prefer gameplay over looks...

If the game runs flawlessly and is fun to play...but doesnt have the best look to it...heck who cares...atleast it isnt boring...

"I prefer gameplay over looks"
"atleast it isnt boring..."
"This map is a basic horde map"

You confuse the shit out of me.

There are already 1000000000 horrible looking horde maps that all have EXACTLY the same gameplay. There is only one way to make a horde map even remotely fun these days is to make the environment really cool.

Why shit on a turd, when instead you could polish it to a mirror shine, re-package it and hand it out as chocolate?

Hunter does have a way with those words. He's pretty right too. It takes away from the appeal if the environment isn't interesting. I'd rather take cover behind a ruined pillar than a textureless block. Just my opinion.

Contrary, I've played a few (like very few) good looking horde maps. Hellmouth is one of them that I can recall, although the author attempted to expand it out more, but it seemed rather short.

... and lets not forget the Tetris map.
