I had to reformat because of a bsod that appeared everytime you started windows, now i lost everything, interest, half life 2, counter strike source, crysis, 3ds max, EVERAY THING!!! >:(

I think it is important not to store data which you care about on the same partition as your operating system. That way if your operating system fucks up files it won't matter much if you have to reformat the partition it's on.

Go back on your steam account, all your steam games should start downloading again. Saved games will dissapear, though. Just reinstall everything else. Sorry to hear.

That happened to me a while ago. And somebody I knew (who doesn't know much about computers) left their computer in the company of some pranksters (who do know about computers), who ended up setting it so that a giant photo of a penis appears whenever it is turned on. She's also afraid that her mum will see it some day, as she occasionally uses it for the internet.

Then again, I've never had to reformat XP in the 7 years its been installed.
