Grim, kids this young aren't the ones with goals, it's their PARENTS that have goals. There's a big difference there.
In my opinion it's fine to set milestones when children are this young, it just gets disturbing when it continues on into early adulthood and the once helpful learning experiences transform into massive academic pressure.

I also have a rather competitive personality. I brought in some sunglasses to school to out-douchebag somebody who had an ugly pair. I was dissapointed when everybody said they were cool. The same person said that they'd calculated how many cars hitting a wall it takes to replicate the force of an atomic bomb exploding. Because I wanted to make an even more useless calculation, I spent an hour last night making measurements and doing calculations so I could find out how much higher than the top of a post I would have to aim in order to hitit with a Makarov. It turned out to be 1.09cm.

When i read the first few words of the post shown on the front page I thought you were going to say he has been accepted for a university course. In which case you would be pushing him a bit far.
Sounds like he's got a good life ahead of him if he already has goals.

I guess I have a very competitive personality. I had to be number-one in school, even in medical school.
I cannot imagine myself working that hard ever again.
I'd rather be playing games.

So I think I may be just a bit too competitive.
TJB, i calculated the amount of tiles in at a defined part of the platform. it has 2480 tiles. Lovely. Next up, support beams.
