Probation period huh?
What'd you do? lol.
Grats on the job. What do you do for work?

Aged care...the probation period is like a trial period where they monitor your performance and at the end of it you have a meeting with management and they discuss your performance. It also means alot of paperwork and induction/training meetings. There is alot of government protocol behind aged care here.

I can imagine. So are you working in a retirement home? Or a community house? Or do you work with older folk in their own homes helping them out and stuff?
I have a lot of respect for people who help the elderly. I could never do it. I find old people disgusting. I like them, don't get me wrong, but sometimes just.. yuck.

Lol, Yeah, I work in a home...this one I've just started at is mighty posh. This is the rich man's retirement home ($800,000 AUS Bond). However, making a supervisor role will also grant me power to do Home Care packages too...so i've got a mixed bag which I actually really look forward too. I like a job that's not the same every day

ergh, australian aged care homes are really bad. my grandma is in one and it's gross and actually really creepy.

it takes a certain type of kind-hearted person to work in one of those places. you've got my admiration.
