satchmo satchmo“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better. -- Samuel Beckett”
This week, I talked about health care reform in America.

Apparently, there are many wealthy and privileged Americans who believe that not every American citizen deserves to have access to health care.

I happen to disagree.

I believe that most, but not all, deserve it.

The worthless wastes of life that dont have a job, dont care to get one, and have no future ambitions are the people that dont deserve it. Why should the government spend billions on people that dont contribute to society.

Unfortunately there's not a good way to figure out the active status of a persons 'worth'.

I dont think health care should be socialized like that. Instead, they should pump that same amount of money into a well thought out plan (that they dont hastily pass) to get the economy out of the gutter so the honest working people can afford health insurance.

Yeah, I just only heard today that Obama wanted to put free healthcare in, and that people were opposed to it.
Take my word for it, it's awsome. Free prescriptions, free surgery, checkups, ect. Taxes pay for everything required, and the doctor's pay. You're paying taxes anyway, why also pay out the nose for healthcare?

The problem is that many hard-working Americans have no access to health care at all because they lost their jobs or they can't earn enough money to pay $1,500 per month for insurance premium.

Yes, that's how much it costs to insure a typical family in America.

I don't understand why people are opposed to it, a lot of great countries have a system similar. Look at Canada and France, they both have a system where the government helps pay for and manage health care and they are just fine.

Free health care for all Americans? Kiss good bye your paycheck, most of it will evaporate in a large income tax hike to help pay for this health care overhaul. This whole health care fiasco is just going to hurt the Democrats politically in the end. Come the 2010 mid term elections, if this does not blow over soon and people are still getting upset on how their representatives are not listening to them during all those town hall meetings across the country, the Democrat party is going to loose it's majority lead in congress.

This is how rumors get started.

It is not going to be a free healthcare. People still have to pay for each visit and for prescriptions, plus a monthly premium.

And 90% of Americans will not be covered under this plan. It's only designed for the uninsured.

Where are you people getting your information? People Magazine?

I've noticed that the Americans reacting badly to this are Republicans. Figures. I've haven't followed this story very closely, but I've been hearing some people call it a "government death panel" for the elderly and disabled or something along those lines? Really, just how retarded do you have to be to- oh wait, Sarah Palin made that comment. That explains alot.

And that seems to be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Republican opinion on the reform. Some of the others I've read are quite... bizarre.

Luke they oppose because there afraid to loose money..plus it'll give Obama a target.
I had an older friend who has found a cure for cancer which is 100% effective if backed with nutrition, when he tried to put it out there he recieved a nasty letter from some company that pretty much said his life would be in danger if he went any further with it.

But ya, I'll say it again...
Im proud to be canadian!
