About 5 years ago, I used to work at this huge furniture warehouse in Pennsylvania. At times, I operated a forklift moving around heavy stuff. In the 2 years working there, I only had one minor accident with the forklift, I accidentally punctured a box I was trying to grab, but the item inside never got damaged, so I lucked out on that one.

Well, jesus, I hope you aren't that stupid.

Anyway:
I used to work at a convinience store a few years ago. I just heard a story that a clerk got shot and killed. Ihat could have been me.

I use to drive a car. I just heard about a bad accident on the news where 4 people died. That could have been me.

I used to cross the street when it was my turn to go. I just heard that someone crossing the street was hit by a drunk driver. That could have been me.

etc.
It could always "be me", but the probability is virtually nill, and it wasn't me. And it wouldn't be rational to ever count on it "being me", or I wouldn't ever do anything.

Ratings can be through the roof, but we all know the channel feeds Right-wingers what they want to hear, while giving as little information as possible. Fact.

You can say the same thing for the left wing feed of CNN, MSNBC, HLN and a few others that cater to liberals. Oh, and as for "while giving as little information as possible", that comes down to "depends who you ask". No, I'm afraid your analysis is too vague, Luke. You going to need to do better than that.
