I'm painting my apartment right now, it takes a lot longer than I had anticipated, and it's fucking killing my back.

Bedroom is done, and I'm really pleased with the results. Now it's on to the most tedious parts, because I have to move my computer, sofa and tv out of the way. Not looking forward to messing with all the cables behind my computer

You're welcome to come paint my room when you're done!

HA!.....Welcome to my world, Saribous. I paint my big ass house at least once a year. I go through about 4, five gallon (20 gallons) pails of paint. Since I live in a tropical country, the weather here does a number on the outside of my house, so a regular up-keep is important.

As for your back pains, it sounds that you might be doing a lot of bending downs while perhaps passing the paint roller, is that it? If it is, I suggest that if you can, you screw on a longer stick (normally a wooden broom handle) on to the paint roller's handle. At least this way you wont be needing to do so many bending downs, thus putting less stress on your lower back.

Almost done! Two walls to go.

I'm glad I don't have to paint an entire house, because I'm sure it would be my undoing. As for my back, I have had trouble with it since I was 16. It starts to hurt like hell if I've been standing upright for a few hours, bending down actually relieves the pain.

It's odd, I should probably see a doctor :P

the roller is your friend, even for trim work... tape and trim guides are also friends...

Holy shit Tito, you repaint your house once a year, if not more? Does everybody there do that? That seems downright ridiculous, not to mention costly. Do you strip all the paint off before putting a new coat on, or just leave it and and paint over? Seems like it would build up pretty fast at that rate.

The out-facing walls in Tito's house are a metre thick already. Experts predict it will be two metres thick by 2012 ;)

If he's lucky, that's when the world ends and no-one will notice.

By 2012, Tito's walls will have their own gravitational pull because of their thickness, causing the earth to implode and thus ending all life as we know it.

Maybe he'll be protected from the apocalypse inside his massive walls. He's got his head on straight, that man.
