I got this sound card from one of my friends.

His wife just had a baby, and I visited them in the hospital. He works for ASUS, so he gave me this card as a token of gratitude.

I installed it, and it sounds pretty sweet. But I think I need to get better speakers to really hear the quality sound this card generates.

That's an old sound card now, it should cost less.

man, I got bose speakers from future shop about 2 years ago, and they still sell them.

In the past when I had my desk, I'd wake up in the morning to see that my cats knocked over the speakers, this happened multiple times, the first time, the cats knocked one over through the night, in the morning I seen the speaker hanging over the edge of my desk by its wire!
Anyway moral of the story, THEY STILL SOUND KICKASS! and they look like I got them yesturday, no dents or anything..

I realize that bose is usually expensive but man, I think it was the best $150 I spent in all my life.

Thats bogus, their still $150. but well worth it!

I was going to get either this pare, or a bose coputer speaker set that came with a sub for $50 more.. tried both out at the store.. The one I got sounded alot better..
anyway, I'm ranting.

Those Bose speakers are US$90 now at Newegg, with free shipping.

I am buying them.

I use integrated sound and store surplus headphones, and I don't notice any lack of quality...

Maybe it's because you haven't experienced equipments that cost more and have better quality.

I was a skeptic about expensive speakers until I got a subwoofer. The difference is huge.

And I can definitely hear the difference between a $10 headphone and a $100 one. I don't even consider myself an audiophile.

I have a first-gen Bose Companion 2 set from my uncle, and it's the weirdest thing. There's some radical equalizer changes that go on if headphones are plugged into them, most notably that low bass gets about twice as loud. I've never seen speakers do that other than these, but then again I've only owned a handful of speakers in my life.

I heard that the second generation Bose Companion has a lot of "bug fixes" since the first iteration.

My speakers should arrive tomorrow, and I'll let you guys know how they sound compared to my $15 Logitech speakers.
