I need your help to test this. It's a test form containing two buttons. One is for submitting bug reports, the other is for checking for application updates. I want to make sure these functions actually work so i can implement them in Compilator and Half-Life Launch Pad.

Download Test Form for "Submit a bug report" and "Check for Update" functions

If you have the time, please download and try it out.
Thanks. :)

Edit:
I've compiled a new version of my dll with modified code for the emailing bit and re-uploaded the zip file. Feel free to give this another try.

Okay, I sent a bug report (with a fake email) and updated to get a red dot.
Seems to work.

Updated and sent bug report successfully. The bug report seemed to be hanging, but it was just taking quite a long time.

Strange. Some of you get an error, some don't.
Yes im aware that the bug reporter form seems to hang while sending. Ill fix that.

Also Potatis, what the heck did you do with my titlebars?

You mean the icon next to the X:es? I have it on all windows. It's part of DisplayFusion and when clicked the window is moved to the other monitor.

Sound usefull.

Anyway, damn you bug reporter.
Commented 13 years ago2011-01-10 18:10:49 UTC Comment #38443
potatis: DisplayFusion sets it up so that a middle-click moves the window to the other monitor. You can get rid of the ugly and slightly buggy extra icon and use middle click instead :)

That happened when i tried to update, and the bug report didn't work at all. It just hung for like 3 minutes and i stopped it.

oh and the dot turns red even though the update failed.

I just tried this.

Before and after updating, I tried to submit a 'other problem' ;) bug report, and was greeted with this lovely message.

Do you people use proxy servers and/or firewalls? Port 25 needs to be open for email.
Or perhaps the distance between you and the contact server (themightyatom.nl) is too great causing the connection to time out. Seems pretty asumable...

OMG Atom is spying on us through mock tests!

Edit: Update worked, and error report worked (it only took about 30 seconds).

Perhaps the text boxes should be locked while the error is being sent, and some sort of progress or activity indicator should be displayed somewhere.

I do not use a proxy and I believe my ISP blocks port 25. I can reach your web server (themightyatom.nl:80).
Commented 13 years ago2011-01-11 20:27:49 UTC Comment #38440
Thats probably why updating worked fine, but sending a bug report did not because of port 25 being blocked by your isp. Sucks.
Commented 13 years ago2011-01-12 00:52:19 UTC Comment #38453
I read many ISPs block port 25, perhaps you should have the script try a different port if an attempt with port 25 fails.
