Tetsu0 Tetsu0Positive Chaos
Hurricane Irene. It's coming straight for CT. They have already started evacuating parts of my town and the neighboring town. So Im going to use this journal to document and update whoever cares. There's already water seeping thru the cracks in my house's foundation. There's some water in the basement. Our grid has no power. Fun fun fun.

Backyard is flooding too.

breakfast on the grill. Yum... Grilled bacon :) delish.
Still safe for now... A tree fell down and hit my neighbors pool. Thank god only about a foot of water drained because it came straight down the hill and into my yard. Sucks for them but I'm safe and the rain for now has stopped (12:16pm EST) now it's just wind and the eye is approaching from what the radio says.

Wow, you're getting it worse than me. I'm on the north shore of MA and we've only lost power once, for a second or so. Other than that just some wind and rain. I think I'm right on the outskirts of this thing so that's nice.

I hope your property and everyone is fine over there! Dry that basement out, mold is the worst thing.

I'm not too far from Irene, but all I'm probably gonna get is a small shower. :D

When I read that it was 500 miles wide, I assumed the BBC had made a typo, but nope, it really is. That's crazy!
Stay safe, dude

Shit, I'd probably evacuate myself at first news of a hurricane. As Archie says, stay safe. :

Hah as of yesterday my powersupply died on my desktop. It was the one that came with the case... And it was a $40 case... So a friend has an extra 600W kicking around. But everything's unplugged even though we don't have power. Yay iPhones though. Else I would be TOTALLY in the dark.
Blitz, a lot of my family have underground lines and they have power. Jerks

Wow, I feel so thankful in moments like this. I imagine how horrifying those high speed winds are there when I'm afraid of the maximum maybe 80 km/h in bad cases. And the worst case was a rare phenomenon about 3 years ago when it was really hot: a tornado formed and it practically teared the church tower apart.

I'm in northern NJ and it didn't hit too bad here. A big tree branch fell and grazed the corner of our house's roof.

Was I the only one who got ads with half naked girls in them when clicking at Tetsu0's first link? I don't get them anymore, but I did a few hours ago.

Don't get me wrong I've got nothing against topless girls! I'm just saying I was surprised.

Oh and about the hurricane, leave your hat at home and try not to get killed.

I only had the mobile imageshack app so if you got some form of softcore porn I do apologize. Unless you don't mind, and in that case you're welcome.
Storms over methinks. It's headed up the new York line towards and into mass and Vermont.
We got lucky and I'm heading to my aunts house soon who actually has power.
My girlfriends town wasnt so lucky. Her downtown area is almost entirely flooded thanks to the river. But shes here with me so shes ok. I'll bring my camera so I'll take some shots of destruction if I see any. We all like seeing destroyed stuff

All we got up here was some light rain (you couldn't even notice it unless you were outside) and a shitty gray sky. Didn't do wonders for my energy, but it wasn't even noteworthy aside from what should have happened but didn't. Glad to hear you're okay down there, though!

rivers are cool until they flood, in which case they become gay.
Commented 12 years ago2011-08-29 11:13:14 UTC Comment #49271

I thought all rivers were strait, guess I was wrong.
Commented 12 years ago2011-08-29 23:32:39 UTC Comment #49269

Commented 12 years ago2011-08-30 07:40:37 UTC Comment #49272
Of course rivers can be gay, a lot of them meet up with each other.
