What are you playing in the band?

I play lead guitar.
We spent a LOT of time mastering and mixing these tracks. Our studio is in Queens, NY. That's a 2.5 hour drive for us.

Oh damn, that's quite far away. You have your own studio? Recording in studios is quite expensive. Especially if you are paying a mixer dude to do the mixing :P.

Yes its a professional studio with 5 sound engineers. It's not cheap.

The cymbal entry at the beginning sounded pretty sloppy, I didn't like the personally sung "excuse.. excuse.. excuse" because it didn't happen anywhere else in the song, and some of the singer's words flowed in kind of a muddled way. Otherwise, not bad.

• song in general seems very generic. I think possibly adding an over-the-top orchestral sample or some such in the background/intro/outro would give it the "bite" that it needs.

The song is finished and will not be changed further. But were taking all the suggestions from the first album and applying them to our next album. Which were just starting to write

I liked it, however it did suffer from a few rock clichés or "patterns" that you hear in too many rock songs imo. It makes the song a bit too predictable and I like to be surpriced when I listen to music.

I still enjoyed it though.
And congratulations on finishing your first full length album

Care to elaborate on the patterns you found? Im curious to hear your opinions.
As songs go it is pretty 'cookie cutter' unfortunately

Just heard the song, and firstly the vocalist is awesome.
The build up to the bridge sounded a bit out of place ,and the chorus sounded a bit underwhelming, and the guitars should have been panned out on the left and right instead of the center.
