A guy I often work with has a daughter. She just turned 15 and they threw a party. I was invited - to work for free. Along with 2 other photographers. Yes, this guy is a cheapskate.

She isn't very interesting. Her friends, on the other hand, actually were. You'd think they were 18 or something. 2 of them were drop dead gorgeous. But I boast a charisma stat of about 1, so I couldn't think of anything to say and went by completely unnoticed. I guess that'd make me a master of stealth.

It wasn't my camera we were using so I don't even have photos to post.

I then dreamed of overhearing the name of one of them was Julia, but that's about all that happened. Overhearing. You just know you'll die alone when even in dreams you don't try to get the chicks.

It's like passing by a Mercedes agency, knowing you can't afford one, and then dreaming you're told the price while still not being able to afford it. It's funny in a screwed up way.

Oh well. She was too young anyway.

Edit: Why am I even posting this? It'll make me come across as some sort of pedophile. Damn. In my defense, they weren't 10. They looked more like 19. I lost interest in 15 year olds by the time I was 17.

Edit 2: As a photographer I work with 15 year olds all the time but they never really grabbed my attention for the aforementioned reason. This one was just a looker. I'd prefer: a 19-20 year old with those looks.

We've had many conversations and you're a really nice bloke. Just have the confidence to use your online chatty charismatic self in real life.

Well, maybe not when they're 15...

The infallible rule for men is you can date someone who is (half your age) + 7.
e.g. I am 20. Half that is 10. Plus 7 is 17. The youngest girl I can date is 17. Works 100% of the time.

When I'm 90 all those 52 year olds better watch out.

half + 7.

60% of the time it works every time.

Interesting formula. I guess that's a way to be safe against jailbait. Must have been in my subconscious all this time somehow, because it to applies to some "minimum age" default rule that I never really thought about but always seem to have had.

But 7 is a magic number. Makes the rule only work when you're 14 or over. Programmers are expected to be against magic numbers :P

Gotta work on that extroversion.

I can date 15 year olds. You should have invited me to the party :P :).

Don't worry, I'm in the same situation as you- I don't really know how to get involved into a relationship, and I can't get out of my friend zone.
I'm quite frustrated by this, as I'm already 18. It's just that for me it's easier to talk to guys than girls just because the guys I talk to mostly have some interests as I have. Most girls I've met are radically different.
I know I can't expect every girl to be a gamer or be curios about the sciences or be more technically inclined, but damn, they are almost non-existent!

O_O Also, most 15 year old girls are retarded and only want assholes. And usually are bitchy themselves. #Reasons I go for 16/17 year olds

Brendanmint, you're 12. You won't get 16ers until you're at least 15 yourself.

DiscoStu, if you define 7 in a constant the its fine. Dont randomly use it around without atleast putting down a comment. I would still shoot you down for that in a code review though :).

That formula doesn't work. That means that the only people I can date are those older than me.

No. You shouldn't be allowed to date anybody, ever.

Dating range = your age +/- (your age/10)?

Seems acceptable

That's more better. :P

@brendanmint: Wait, I thought he was 10. How old are you then?
