Today I saw an interesting movie trailer at the movies today. Now, I can't remember what the movie was called, but the premise was that humanity fought giant extra-dimensional aliens from a portal on the ocean floor using giant mech-suits. These suits had an onboard computer; GLaDOS.
By which I mean it was obviously voiced by Ellen McLain. Using the same tone. And the same post-process effects. I was watching it with friends, and I turned to the one out of the group assembled today who had played Portal. Her reaction?
"Is that GLaDOS?"

Oh, also The Hobbit pt 1 was entertaining and the people freaking out about it running at 45FPS are full of it.

The trailer you saw was for Pacific Rim. It looks like a live-action version of Evangelion. I'd watch it!

Aperture Science needs to defend Earth. They can't experiment on giant aliens, they need humans to survive for further testing. :P

Aliens coming from another dimension? Mechanical suits with GLaDOS in them?

This is totally not "Aperture Science vs. Black Mesa". No sir.

This movie has a chance of being good since it'sby directed by Guillermo del Toro... =)

The part where the giant robot thrusts its fist toward the monster is cool. I emphasize: thrusts.

Strange hearing that voice in such a different context.

Ellen McLain needed a job I suppose.

Hell, probably a good move by the movie makers... you know how many people are going to watch this, whether or not they like the concept of the movie, just because "it's got GLaDOS in it"?
