It's a point, actually. Maybe bots for DM would have to be cleverer than for CS. I guess with all the traps and gadgetry, they might get confused and stuck.
I think he was trying to see whether putting [closed] in a topic title actually makes it closed. I removed the [closed] bit because a) it didn't, and b) it was therefore misleading.
You don't need to tie the brush to a func_water, in fact, you probably shouldn't. Putting a texture prefixed with ! should generate the effect you've described.
Are you positive you've got the same file? Check that the filesizes are identical, that should be a good measure. If his is a lot smaller, he's probably got a version without lighting for whatever reason (compiling error, not having run RAD).
Erm, hold on a minute, why are you trying to copy the file over itself? My guess is you've specified a path wrong in Hammer's options. Check them all carefully, and if all else fails, move the files into the right directory yourself.
