oh, and chickenfist, i expected an awful lot more form your review/report. Be more specific and constructive critism would go a long way too.

as for ambient sounds, i wasn't really concentrating on them for the beta.. i was really just trying to get it playable. As for the room dubbed 'storage room 1' i myself dont know what i was thinking.. i needed a place to put grunts and dead assasins as if a battle had just rages and storage room popped into my head. unfortunately, my idea of a storage room is a little strange

seriously ansith your a right annoying pest.. sort your own problems. as seventh has said numeruos times - show some inititive. I think EVERY question you have asked (except this one) has been answered in the past. search previous threads.. there IS a search button. use it.

Well, i made the end of HS5C to suit the beginning of the map you sent me a few weeks ago, gargly so it just ends with 2 big red sliding doors in a corridor where the levelchange between our chapters will be... after that it's really up to you. What i definately didn't expect was the elevator ride where you can see the surface and a helicopter and stuff... All the previous base maps were set underground and it is a little strange to have a sudden apppearance of the surface. If it isnt vital, could you maybe block that off? put something else there? if it is vital, i'll add a whole lotta stairs at the end of my map :)

As for the bomb... its the warhead. the actual explosive device. I have the missile in my map so you should have it in a silo type thing only with pipes and tanks off ooze and things like that. if you could use the model they use from opposing force it would be perfect. You put it wherever you want. It is your chapter

Yeah, that screenshot is taken in 3D view, daubster. Displacements dont show up on 2D views which can be really frustrating but is better than a huge tangled mess

1 question, why use the dev textures?
they were only used to see what the map was like before all textures were made in HL2.

unless of course you are making your own textures

u need to type 'buildcubemaps' into the console for cubemaps to take effect

You will only have to do this once per compile of map... e.g in final version, after you buildcubemaps, it is saved with the map

Testers will be required to write AT LEAST a 2 paragraph review and i cant stress this enough, LOOK OUT FOR BUGS!!!
The whole point is that bugs are noticed nice and early and dealt with.

review.

Entity work is absolutely awsome.. coded door was funny when i got it wrong :)

Lighting was good and bad in some places... get rid of the strobe. it hurts my eyes really badly.

Texturing was okay but could have been a lot better. the darkglass texture you used is hideous. Change it or make it more transparent.

What do you do after you get to the garg? i got to a room with a box in liquid (you could see the invisble liwuid side btw) and then i pressed a button... nothing happened so i went back out and got killed by garg. what's meant to happen?

btw, i think the mod could do with a bit of comedy. nothing huge, but subtle, like my 'top secret plans that R top secr3t so dont read them' sorta thing.. like for Unbreakable, maybe a street sign or what-not.. just for laughs.. although my voice acting in hs5c will be enough to put people into hysterics without any jokes :nuts:

I couldnt afford a 3.4Ghz processor if i saved up for a year!
Just spent ?190 on an upgrade and i still cant play HL2 on full graphics.

Yep, in HLDM the crowbar is great. when you get up close, the opponent will literally brick it, unable to use their 9mmAR on a swerving target and thus spraying bulets all over the roof, wall and floor.

Also, in HL2DM, the crowbar and stun stick are fantastically powerful, killing more often than not in 2 hits.

And you must wonder what the hell valvE were thinking when they said 'crowbar.. yep.. a crowbar to kill those bastards of crabs'

er.. very strange.. do you have retail HL? if so they're easy to get. just in ur valve folder i believe but if u use steam, u need GCFscape to extract them all again...

any younger siblings who enjoy deleting random files? :P
