HEY! Do you have any idea how many hours it took to get all that wool?! I've played the game for hours before, but even my attention span has limits. :P

Plus I've been busy irl lately. I had planned to get in and finish it, but haven't had the chance. :nervous:

Sorry. I thought Rim and I had worked out where the spawn was so that you'd spawn on the balcony at the bottom. I haven't been able to get on in a while to figure out how I want to do the stairs.

It won't do tricks itself, but as we can now place it in significantly less protected areas, we can make it (open air fire in a wooden home for example).

Based on the size of what appears to be a Mega Taiga biome, do we have large biomes again?

For anyone not on the server yet, spawn is straight down from the green indicator, next to that little sand island.

I'm still set up in the spawn area, preparing my contribution to TWHL Town.

As for my main base, I haven't found a spot yet. My plan requires a mountain that has a height of at least y: 107 (for the most part) and covers an area of 4 chunks by 4 chunks. I've been far west, about 1600 - 1700 blocks but have yet to find a suitable one.

Oh, those. The program is called Amidst. It lets you see the biomes, slime chunks, and locations of villages, strongholds and temples. The only catch (aside from not being 1.8 compatible yet) is that you need the seed, which only Atom can see.

Actually, I'm not in school, unemployed (sadly), and don't use Windows for ANYTHING other than gaming, so I spend ~90% of my day on my Ubuntu partition, where I have Minecraft.

As for the Lapis Lazuli and enchanting, villagers will offer it for trade in 1.8, so it can be found early on, and a reason to farm villagers.

14w30b is one of the development snapshots. While people can access them, they're basically beta builds of the next official release, in this case 1.8. You can access it, if you want to try it, by editing your profile on the launcher to download them, but if you want to play on the server now, you'll need to set it back to 1.7.10.

As for the reset, Atom's planning to wait for the official release of 1.8, as there are a lot of new materials and changes over 1.7. We've just been talking about plans for the new world, like banner colors for players and my proposal for our central Nether transit station, as well as small biomes :P.

This layout was designed to allow for 'local' access to the nether and overworld, through the lower tunnels, while long distance travel is gained via the upper tunnels, where, in each of the four compass directions, there is space for a 5 man CARTS terminal. For best results, both visually and functionally, all portal should be placed so, when standing in the portal, we're standing on Y:8.

Three more patterns were posted since I posted my image: a Daisy flower in the center (brendanmint's solar flares), a brick background and a gradient (dyed color fullest at the top).

I didn't mention this before, but these may also be worn in the helmet slot atm, allowing the banner to be raised above/behind your head.

@Stu: I made the US one as it was the easiest I could think of to show of the multiple overlapping dyed colors/shapes.

User posted image
Yes, we will now have the ability to easily plant our on markers staking claim to an area. Not only do we have color options using wool during crafting, but once made, we can use dyes to further customize it to our liking.
User posted image
We can even mix and match colors as we see fit.

I would like to officially stake my claim to black and green as my banner colors for the server when the 1.8 upgrade occurs.

Well, it's back up, but the problem has worsened.

Previously, it restarted every 30 mins, but now it's restarting every 15. The problem isn't due to large numbers of anything in a small area, as I've been in the nether, trying to hunt Wither Skeletons.

Just had a ridiculous encounter.

While exploring a mineshaft, I found a Zombie Villager caught in a Cobweb, so I killed what turned out to be her. I say this, because after I killed it, I turned around to find three Baby Zombies (at least two of which had armor, w/ one of them having a full Chain set w/ at least one enchanted piece), running at me. They, of course, killed me, and when I got back down there to get my revenge, they had despawned, having avenged their mother.

Only in Minecraft.

It should be known that, I checked, and it's ~8 times the distance from spawn that my desert is. Not only is that a major expedition, but it will have a sizeable impact on the size of the map.

You really didn't have to actively go exploring to find a Mesa biome, brendanmint. As it's the last biome we don't have access to, and due to a kind heart and large biomes, there's a simple solution: ask Atom, the Seed Holder.

Kind sir, would you please provide rough coordinates for a Mesa biome, so that we may build a nether line to it? We prey that it isn't so far out, that it increases the already ridiculous 3.3 gigapixel size of the map.

After several weeks (game time) of exploration, I have finally completed my survey of the desert. I raided approximately two dozen burial tombs finding may rare treasure, but my most interesting finds occurred above ground.

During my travels, I came across a botanical marvel:

I don't know about complicated, but as for version/requirements, according to the thread on the Minecraft Forums, it uses Forge or Bukkit. However, the only recommended version right now is for 1.7.2, with an Alpha version available for the 1.7.9 Beta/Development version of Bukkit.

Their plan wasn't to try to keep up in terms of visuals, starting w/ the Wii. It was to innovate. They did it then (which Sony copied w/ the Move), and they're trying to do it now (which Microsoft copied w/ SmartGlass). The only problem is that developers haven't really bought into the Gamepad idea yet, but with Amiibo coming (along w/ the success of Skylanders and Infinity), things might start to change.

I liked both the new Zelda games. Hyrule Warriors looks like a good take on the series, crossing it w/ Dynasty Warriors.

As for the new main game, the open world concept looks amazing, I love the visual style, and the 'tech' (the 'mecha octorok' and that seemingly 'technomagic' arrow) looks to be an impressive and interesting direction for the series.
