Some of them look...stretched. Or like they're (for example) .01x1.00
Other than that, it looks okay.

Check the settings again- sometimes they don't set in fsr.
Is there anything under the entity, or does it go into the void?

Because they're (fairly) clean in their music, great tunes, and it's hard not to respect a lead singer who, on his deathbed, nailed his last recording in one go.

Most mods were made for won anyway the few steam only mods are rare for hl1.
Most HL mods can be used in both steam and WON, albeit without custom splashes in steam.
Basically, if the mod is not compatible with steam, I'm losing more than half the potential audience, because most people have moved to steam fully.
Also, the blood decals look better in the final, lit map. Don't worry too much.

in Weapon coding... Post #279805
It's an unofficial version based off 1.2/1.3 that adds, among other things, a silencer to the pistol that can be toggled with secondary fire.
You could make a new model and replace the sound, couldn't you? I think the muzzleflash is placed at an attachement, so you'd just need to move that.

But NPCs would still hear it...Although, they don't really notice it much anyway, so it might work.

No, that would make all the They Hunger code be included with it, and probably cause a game crash unless he used the FGD for it.

Do you want a switchable silencer, or one that stays on?
Are other things okay?
You could use the unofficial Spirit 1.7 if you're not using sitting scientists and don't mind a few other 'features' and bugs.

HELP: It seems that steam HL is having trouble reading the DLLs for the mod. I will try copying over the mod again, but if it persists, I will need a fix, or the mod is pretty much screwed. After all, not many people use WON anymore, and a limited market (so to speak) isn't a worthwhile one.
1st. I'll see if I can add anything that would make sense for the area.
2nd.
Second picture looks too bright to me. It's almost fullbright.
It is fullbright. It's the one I'm working on now, can't be arsed to do a Rad for every compile.
EDIT: area from 1st pick now has blinking red light. Looks okay, IMO. Lighting more varied, if only a bit.
BUMP Getting dangerously close to the three month limit ;) Just got back to work on this.

I don't know, because I don't use launch options outside of Hammer. Works then.

Just bind Sv_cheats and restart. I use I and O, respectively. It's a bug in the engine, I think.

Thanks.
How are you guys doing with this? Still going strong, I hope.

A few things I noticed replaying the demo today;
A)The last/second? level has low-def textures on some of the crates, which looks a bit bad considering they were high-def in the previous map.
B)Pathing is a bit bad on the stairwell in the map with Kate- It's sometimes hard to coax her out of it and get her in the hallway.
C)It's still fun as hell.
EDIT: :( Just got your PM, hotdog. Sad to hear it's dead.

in Migrating Steam Content Post #279613
It looks like I might be able to start getting parts for my new PC soon, so I wanted to make sure of this.
Is it possible to move over stuff from the steamapps folder on one computer, and get the content to work on another, as long as Steam is installed on the second computer and the user has the same steam login on both?
I really would prefer not having to re-download HL2, Lost coast, the SDK, ect, because it would take years at 1/2GB a month, and I would be without any other kind of internet in the meantime.
So, has anyone done/attempted this? Is it possible? Or would I need registry entries that can only be obtained by downloading the games?

in HL2 RPG (cont) Post #279507
I was thinking that citizens would have a complex underground railroad set up for refugees- Perhaps the player was on it at one time or another, trying to find a relative or something along those lines.
Of course, if we're going to define the player's history, we have to do so loosely, with conversation choices. After all, immersion in RPGs where the character is player-created is tied to them being able to make their own stories.
EDIT: I had a quest idea last night while playing goldeneye. What if there was an attack on a rebel base, and when reinforcements arrived, everyone was dead- they made a casualty list, reported back, but got attacked and killed before they could leave. One of the rebels thinks it was an inside job, because the reinforcements said there were 17 deaths- there were 18 rebels at the station. (numbers may vary) So he wants you to go into what is now combine territory and retrive the list, so he can find who was the mole. Another quest tied to it would be to kill the mole after they are identified.

It would crash because I have a shitload of solids and ents, and the map would take a 3840x3317x820 block to fully encase.
And overlays are expensive compared to decals, so I've only used one or two of them.
And I'll find a skybox that works. Or I'll just let the alleys and some streets be darker. The HEV suit does have a flashlight.

Fullbright because I can't seem to find a skybox that looks nice and has lighting settings that work with the map. They're all either too yellow/bright or the pitch is too shallow and/or the XYZ lighting is coming from behind a larger building, blocking 90% of the light for a section.

Do all the maps have corresponding trigger_changelevels in them from the last map?
Are the changelevels far enough away from each other so the game doesn't get in a "loading..." loop?
