but let me put this into terms a person like you should under stand.

the apperance of the

can be explained by basicly the same means that the apperence of the brutes and drones, and phantoms, and high charity, in halo 2. they can be argured to have been there all along, which is the same answer I give to you

and at the end of half-life, your are teleported into a sleep, one which you are teleported out of and onto the Half-life 2 stating train.

that the telportation projects caused a rift that made the combine come, that just proves my point.
that is the story of half-life 1 and 2. its just that in half-life one, the only combineish thing you see is the nihilith, who is there to ensure the combines grip on zen. which is the same thing they did to earth.

yes they were. the security guard who you see banging on the door on the tram ride was barney(of whos story you see in Half-life: blue shift) and those two scientists were the two scientists in the chamber right after the control room, who complain about them overuseing stuff and who are seen again after the incident talking after you go up the spining elevator and who let you out of that room.

I think we need something a little better then dots as well, they just seem, well, stange. there just not that TWHL yellow theme. proper Icons should be made

I also think that there should be a pip system for members.

you get two pips to start out. one for proper use of the map vault, and one for proper use of the forums. they could be taken away if the mods are getting pissed at them. then, you could get two more, one for exception maps posted in the map vault(like the award), and one for being a person who helped out with the answering of questions and generaly above average forum behavior(like the forum award thingy).
then a fifth pip if your deamed an especially valued member by the mods, or if your a mod.

(i relized the following is confuseing now that ive typed it, and reread it)

and this could be pretty well implimented in code. with a bianary system(the 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16...system), like so:

you have a 1 if your a good forum user (pip in first slot, no pips in second through fifth slot)

you have a 2 if your a good vault user (no pip in slot one, or in slots 3 through 5, but a pip in slot 2)

you have a 3(1 + 2 = 3 :biggrin: ) if you are both of the above, and hence have a pips in only slot one and two

but say you have a 1, and a 2, and are a exceptional forum user, you would also have an 8, since 4 would be an exceptional map vault user, and hence would have an 11, and hence a pip, pip, no pip, pip, no pip.

wait, that was confusing even for me. blame it being midnight here.

you could also just have a number of 0-5, for each thingy you get a +1 to that number, and hence a pip(or if your being lazy, you could just use the map vaults star pics

im doing good. just working on the final disarming sequence. then I might have to go back and add a bit of detail here and there and make a few tweaks. shouldn't take me that long, but I have the compo to consider too.

ah, well you need a trigger change level in the other, just flag it use only, and make it 1x1x1. that way the player cant get back, but the change level still works

wait, I know if you fool around with the posisioning a bit it will work, i remember that I got it to.

wait, i see it.

the way your alining it. the orentation of it, at least in the form I got it, allowed me to place my elevator so it went through the inside of the U that your level makes.

then youd just have to find a way to connect the end of your level to the begining of mine

from the look of how you have it now, your tring to place there respective entrances and exits as close as you can together. but if need be, change the corner, just let me see it quickly afterwards so that if anything looks really bad I can build a new corner

ah, great just as im nearing completeon of the level, im geting sent down to california. where the only computer availible is a mac. so I have a few days to get alot of work done before I go.

You still have a date when this should be finished? or should I just work as fast as I can anyway

oh, sorry, I sent you the wrong one, thats the one that I couldn't get working.

like the small lift(the origin was really waky), so i deleted it and replaced it with the catwalk and the extra stairwell for symetry.

but after I found that the model sequence didn't work, I got rid of it and the details that went along with it.

but i never think I saw any sparks on the welder. that seems to have happend on brattys end

you have to remember that I did all those changes about an hour before I sent it to BL to see If I could get it working and attach it to my map. I was unsuccessful

but I found the accuall original, and have sent it to you

i really think there should be a HL1 compo for this, just hosted on Trapt's temp site. that way the people who think this is a really good Idea for a compo(like me),but can't map for Half-life 2(again like me), can enter.

and just have it end the same day the HL2 one does. seeing as the people on this site who still map for Half-life probably know what there doing by now

yes, good stuff indead, now I just need to find/train some more experts at using blender, then the movies 135000 frames will be made with all the haloey goodness inside.

I now hate my ToDo list, it has to many things with priority marks next to them:
-*Mini-MAC gun - designed with parts being ordered soon
-*Halo: fall of reach movie - screenplay being written
-*Problem-Reaction-Kill - now revived, in a manner of speaking
-*HL:Hostage Situation Ending - going good
-random EM weapons - all put on hold until MAC is built
-New Tesla coil - same
-8.0GHZ FreeBSD processing cluster - need the $800
-Beating Steel Batalion - not enough time to try the final levels
-random other crap that ive planned on doing and never got around to

anyone here know how to use blender with some degree of goodness anyway?

Halo: the fall of reach, becasue I had heard only good things about.

and now I must say good things about it to

anything lacking in halos story(which at this point to me is better in some ways then Half-lifes, at least from a gamemakers standpoint anyway) is explained in fall of reach.

and now I am having severe contemplations about using my revived Blender skills to find more people to make a movie out of it with me. it would defidenty make a good movie
