I got an Idea! Again!

How about we collaborate to make yet another map?

This might be too soon, but, we can brainstorm now.

I would suggest another single player map, but since this is "TWHLmix2", It would be appropriate to make it HL2.

It would be fun to make a multiplayer map for this, where we each make a section with only one weapon from each person allowed. We could make it HL2 Deathmatch, or just normal Deathmatch. No other multiplayer mod could be used, since most people either don't play it, or don't have it. Everyone has deathmatch.

What do you say?

Shall we do it again?

And haz, you deserve a break. Go to sleep ;)

TWHLmix was great for its potential - all that lacked was a brutal mangling of existing work - which would have gone against the concept.

I think there should be a new TWHLmix (another one for HL1) with stricter control over quality and content.

Im good at hl2dm mapping so thats my strong point but hl2 would probably be better :(

Of course you can help guys, but we need to come up with a plan first ;)

I think we are torn between what kol said about HL1, and the fact that this would proove better results with HL2, although people have not yet got acostumed to HL2.

Heres how this thing is going to go down:
TWHLmix is a project where TWHL member pass around a map and each add onto it.  It was started a year ago by me, but only one map was made.  Hazardous finished up the TWHLmix1.  We will now do TWHLmix2 with more control, to make sure that we have a better map.
If you are interested in TWHLmix, please e-mail me at Brattylord@yahoo.com with a resume.  This resume could just be a short paragraph about you, just so that I know you are really a mapper fit for this project.  Please send me some screenies of your work, or something of the sort.
After you join, you will recieve a welcome letter, and a place in line.  There will be no public list.  If you are notified that your time has come, and you have not replied in 3 days, you will be bumped to the end of the line, and given a new number.
I hope that this map will go up better than before, and take a considerably less amount of time.
Please join TWHLmix2. We will again make a HL singleplayer map. There will be no custom stuff, unless you e-mail me about it and I aprove.

Just think of what your throwing away there hl2 has everything and its no different to hl1 but with better graphics and physics :D

The map will be HL1.

This is because of a few reasons.

1: People are more acustomed to HL1 right now, since HL2 is relativly new and we probably could not make results like we would with HL1.

2: We can challange ourselves to outdoing TWHLmix1 with the same engine

3: HL1 is easyer for me to put the maps together in right now.

4: With HL1, we will get more publicity from members, since they already know how to do it, and may be shy to show off their new HL2 skills.

Jahzel, of course you can join, but e-mail a resume as some of the others have already. This is so I for one have your e-mails and can make a bulk TWHLmix list to whos involed, and also because I really want to know the quality of your mapping skills. Of course I will probably let everyone in ;)

I'm up for kol's idea...a bit like the project. However, can we please be less harsh? Hardly anyone on TWHL can map to his standard. Can we aim for my standard? It's better than most new people's standard, but not too difficult to reach. I thoroughly enjoyed the project until it got to the point where it was just too difficult. However, if we have a lower standard, it should be more enjoyable and actually succeed. I'll have a word with some people and see what they think.

Just some thoughts here; Because I'm pretty new to TWHLmix, I take it we each map our own segments like a game of consequences? We each pick up where others left off.

Sounds pretty interesting.

Must there be a specific theme? or is it entirely random, the authors design?

P.s Lots of people are now saying that the next one shouldnt be aimed at a high scale, I say everyone just maps their ass off to the highest quality they can possibly achieve, aim higher - and out-do the previous!

It shouldnt be hard, theres all the help and feedback you can get here and other places.

well, I want to limit the ammount that mappers add.

I thought to myself when I was writting this that if I did not add limitations, people would add way too much. The point of TWHLmix is to pass around the map and each add a little.

I know that one map is too little, so when the team comes together.

I see now that this is crazy, so I'll send out another e-mail ;)

by 3, I just mean not too many. Any ammount of stuff you make will be fine, just keep it within reason.
