You don't mean the edge of the site, by any chance? :)

popups: You sure you don't want them, even just for making a new post (quicker to load on 56K)? I could always make it optional - that's another thing - I hope to create more member-specific options, like preferred number of posts per page etc.

images: okey-doke.

reply box: sure. what do you mean, 'properly threaded'? These are as threaded as you get! But it's not useful threading in TWHL's case, so yeah, the new ones will be phpBB-style.

use [ i ] nick [ /i ] (again, no spaces). What, I didn't know there was bbcode, I hear you say. Well, that's about all there is :)

Vassy: These are still the old forums. :) New ones are around the corner.

what sprites exactly? and are they in the valve/sprites/ forlder?

Are they sprites from the valve folder? Think back to when we tried gearbox folder sounds. You need to extract the sprites from the pak file.

in New forums Post #1039
I'm redesigning the forums. Here's a basic list of what I hope to include with the redesign:

bbcode, much faster loading, better notification of new posts, read posts etc., non-hierarchical view, full thread displayed on one page. So basically, classic forum style.

Should I use continue to use popups for the New Post / Reply to Post forms, or make it all non-popup? Viewing posts will NOT be popup-based.

Any other ideas are very very welcome - reply!

The tut-specific forums were originally for both, but they tend to get used for questions / ideas. But comments aren't really useful, since by the time you see them, you've read the tut (unlike with the MV, for example). But people can still e-mail you with comments (maybe I should make that more obvious).

Having the forums threaded has it's disadvantages. I think maybe they outweight the advantages.

Make sure the 'multi-threaded' flag is ticked in your multimanager. If that doesn't fix the problem, leave it ticked anyway, it should always be ticked. Make sure your ambient names do not contain any capital letters. If it still doesn't work, you'll need to test each sound individually (by taking the other two ambient names out of the multimanager) to make sure the settings for each of the ambient-generics are set correctly. If each sound works individually and they still don't work together, post your map in problem maps, or send me an e-mail and I'll have a look.

Set the value of the mm's targets to .001. I heard that setting it to 0 causes problems. If you want the sounds to play constantly as soon as you start the map, you don't need to target 'em or anything.

Hello,
I am having a problem with a section of my map that continas three ambient_generics. I have built a warp tunnel and can't get ALL the sounds to trigger. I have tried a few different methods but all only play the first ambient_generic. What I have set up currently is multi_manager targeting all ambients with a value of 0. A trigger_multiple that targets the multi_manager and then the 3 ambients. This will only play the first ambient and not the others. What exactly am I missing here ?

in Invisible scientist, no scripts performe Post #89
Hi there! It's me again (Vassy), but since this is for our mod, I'm using the joint account. Anyway, my problem: I created a bit in my level where a dr. rosenberg (monster_generic) from bshift walks along a balcony. He waits by a guarded door, and our fellow guard, otis (opfor, monster_generic), performs intropush on the door. He walks away, the door opens, and dr. r. walks through. If only. Problem is, dr. r. doesn't even APPEAR in the map, and otis just stands and guards the door as normal. What the hell is going on?

What about a trigger_hurt? or an invisible lazer set to fire once...
Not very good suggestions are they.
