Rimrook those models are amazing but i have some constructive criticism I hope you accept:

1) The Navenger's Body seems a bit too rigid to me. IMO his torso would twist a bit while walking. (I know this is probably a taboo to say [This being a HALF-LIFE mod and all], but if you note how Elites from HALO walk....) But i also do know that Your model is supossed to be... i dont know.. more proper...

2) The Squid... thing.. When he pulls his tentacles back up for another push, if you've ever seen a squid swim around, they kinda keep the tips together while pulling the tentacles back up towards the body.

Imagine picking up a grain of salt using 3 fingers, but keeping your palm at a set distance from a table.

Other than that, I do like models and textures a lot, and it's great media to keep public interest!
I'll await the next update! :hammer: :freeman:

My Competition entry is going to be in mod form but I'm coming across quite a few frustrating problems.

Mainly, My splash screen is not working, nor is my custom icon.
I followed the tutorial to the letter and when i run my mod after closing and restarting steam, I'm not seeing anything. It's just the same old freeman + shotgun :(

I love ball mice. Especially the ones that Dell ships with their pc's. Picking the dust out of public computer mouses is a favorite past-time of mine.
And i never understood the whole.. "gaming mouse" thing. Are they really that great?

Well the more we speculate, the greater chance that one of us could be right when the EP.3 Launch does roll around.
Then much gloating and "I told you so" will be thrown around. :D

I don't like emo kids because they wear clothing 5 sizes too small, listen to crap music, whine about everything, and all the ones i know go out of their way to make others lives just as emo.

Forgive me if that's heavily opinionated.

I mean. Life sucks. IMO, do something about it instead of collecting in groups and crying about it.
Anyway. I should be getting a digital camera soon, so i can have a better shot up of my desk areas.

I'm still using a game_counter. Because i got it to work. It just does not have the added coolness to it that i expected. I still have a crap-load of actual mapping to do on my map. So once that's finished, I'll spend some good old quality time with my entities.

Thanks for the tip, and Muzz, the camera thing worked, But i can't seem to get the vertical pitch to work at all :nuke:

And i was just thinking; Why on earth is a trigger_counter a brush based entity? It boggles my mind, I tell you.

I've tried that muzz, and it just defaults to the 0,0,0 when in-game. Idk what's wrong with it. Maybe i'll try again.

ok i'll try to get that working. And does anyone know how to work around that stupid camera movement glitch.

Like the camera points at a different point other than the target you choose, then it pans over to the target

Hmm.. Then i have a beat FGD.. Let me get the most up-to date one and try again.
I think my error is occurring because i'm using one entity to trigger 2 counters of the same name, and of different end values.
Maybe the trigger_counters work differently than the game_counters. I'll let you know.

And.. sorry for the lack of faith spike.

Hmm... Which FGD has the Trigger_counter, i got the one from verc (3x) but there's still no counter there. Spike, which one are you using?

I'm setting up all my entities for the Competition, and Half-Life keeps crashing on me, and it's proving difficult to find out why.
Basically i have 5 func_breakables targeting a game_counter. Once the game counter reaches 5, it triggers a game_text to display a message on the player's screen.

It's at that point that half-life crashes, and returns me to my desktop.
The message does not display, the game freezes for a second, and then crashes.

Anyone have any ideas?

And i'm trying to get a func_wall to be a hologram, but that isn't working either.
I've tried a bunch of different render fx types but i don't know how to make it work, i've never used it before.

No actually it's an oasis in New Mexico.

Well this map is taking a drastic turn i guess :)
Now that the new competition was unveiled, I'm going to turn this into a zelda map-pack, or maybe even a mod if i can get the time. Once finished though, i will strip the entity set-ups and release a DM version like i originally planned to.

Thanks for your admiration, but I feel my management skills are lousy. Of course that's just my opinion. Example: Immediately after work, i went to my dads house to play poker with a bunch of his friends and my brother. (i broke even) Anyway it ended up snowing last night and it took me 30 min to get home instead of 10 because i had to drive like 15mph because i was following some idiot in a hummer who was too afraid to turn on his 4 wheel drive. I drive that cavalier, mind you.

ANYWAY

My work schedule is the same today as it was yesterday. So my next step is going to be replacing the textures.

After that I have to place the paths on the ground, Finish the fence maze up near the entrance to that other maze where you get the Kokiri Blade.

Then I have to detail each house as it appears in-game, place weapons, mess with the lighting, add the sprites, and I'll be ready for the beta release!

I'll still be posting screenshots. So stay tuned. I may have something tonight.

Yes, habboi. I had to do some digging inside of the forum because the original link was dead, but i got the textures. I just have to convert them into bitmaps, load them into wally, and see where the best use for them is.

And i was also thinking about having the player teleport in and out of the houses, but I'm not too sure how that would work game-play wise. It's extremely simple to do, so depending on how play-tests go. I might implement them :)

I was also thinking of modeling hearts and shields (Or rupees). To act as Medkits, and batteries, respectfully.

Next update may come tonight if i get out of work at a decent hour.. What a crappy day. I'm workint 10:45am - 3:00pm and then 4:00pm through... i don't know. Maybe 8:00pm ?? Either way, it's going to be a looonggg day.

each button press can trigger 2 outputs. So i believe there can be a counter of some sort triggered from the second output of each button. (The first being, the switching of the door)
1)Room 16 leads to a dead end if you go down either of the long paths
How many paths / possibilites are you dealing with?

Next thing i have to work on is getting some interior textures for the houses, making sure everything is accessible, then i have to move on to weapon placement, and sprite placement.

I plan to incorporate an off-set grid of yellow, gray and blue sprites to mimic the woods feel.
