OK. MEDITATE ON THIS:

"Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, your still retarded."

THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE ARGUING ABOUT.

Please leave this whole this with some dignity and don't reply with something 'wacky', no, just don't reply.

Jahzel, for the same reason that everything that the right wing nutters and the government say have evidence a mile high. I KNOW that the governments fuck us, and the reason I dont lampoon the boring Mr. Moore is because he keeps it basic. He INFERS things if you listen to him, he conveys a nudge and a wink, rather than trying to draw everything into a global master plan.

People are idiots, and leaders are bastards. That's all. The upstairs politics (between countries) is almost certainly a secret handshakey kind of world, but if you don't KNOW don't SAY. Jones adds 2+2 and gets 5, 4 is difficult enough for people to believe. Keep it simple.

...Mephs, why do that to Alex Jones and not say, Michael Moore?
He has all the facts...but then tries to string in random nonsense, such as Mexicans are invading the border and TAKING OVER towns with gangs with rocket launchers and flying the mexican flag and everyone has to speak mexican because every last american has been evicted. THAT is what annoys me. The fact that he takes an important element of truth and adds things to it, which is essentially shitting on vital truth that he has uncovered.

I'd compare him to a child that is the star witness in a murder trial; Truth, but in a fantastical destorted manner.

[EDIT: That reverse speech is HILARIOUSLY vague. Gives a whole new meaning to "hearing what you want to hear"]

[EDIT AGAIN: And another thing, it pains me that I have to lash out at someone who is surely, despite his jingoism, on MY side of things...]

I foresee the following threads in the not so distant future:

"Whats your favouritist colour??"
"If you could be any animal what animal would you be?"
"Do you like rabbits? I like rabbits!"
"Will you be my friend?
"Will you take me too the bathroom, I need a wee-wee?"

Not being an expert in the biology of made up aliens but I would assume that, as a parasite they don't feed on anything, rather they simply live off a host. If they don't find one, they die within a few days.

I'd guess watching the Alien films (well ok, I won't make you watch anything after Alien 2, since they were crap) would give you a nice fictional idea to set your worried mind at ease; since facehuggers were obviously the main "influence*"

in Counting units? Post #127151
counting with eyes is the ONLY way to make things look good
if you use the units all the time you end up with a very lame
map evey time, use you a barny as your guide and make things
look good in relation to the barney!!
There's a big difference between making a well proportioned map and a killbox, if thats what you were implying. Of course people don't sit with a calculator and deside they want a map exactly 3028x1964, but if you don't stick to certain rules you get leaks, playing with vertices screws up, and jumps would be impossible, vents would be too small, in short, a mess. I actually made a simple prefab with the different heights, and I move it around like a ruler. A slightly more accurate version of mapping-by-barneys. :D

The problem is too many different switchable/flashing lights in one area. If you have more than 2 different lights in one area of your map, remove some. The problem is wherever theres a lot of lights, sir.

And check Tommy14's.

(17:21:03) <SariBous> ahaa.. doh i feel stupid. my mines where to fara away from the wall. when i moved them so they touch the wall, it worked perfectly.
The problem was the placement of the mines must be directly touching the wall. Interestingly, I did a bit of testing myself Muzzle, and I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a limit on how far apart the walls (I gave up around 1780 units, when I could barely see the mine anymore.)

But, ya, solved.

in Laer tripmines Post #126742
Hmmm, its simple to make a web of tripmines in a room provided the walls aren't too far apart (I'll actually try and work out how many units is maximum).

As for taking down m_tripmines, you can't afaik, I actually think that player placed mines are still part of the v_tripmine model but I'm not sure.

I suppose you could make a button of sorts which removes the mine and spawns tripmine ammo, giving the illusion of you 'using' the mine...

"Instant On" Flag doesn't seem to make a hell of a difference, perhaps it just stops armed sound.

You get 2 walls running parrallell (I'm not sure if its possible between func_pushable/breakables, I doubt it) and place it right beside one of the walls. Pitch, yaw and roll values determine which way the mine points, so basically just rotate it, AFAIK.

Notice how the simpler a game was the better it was? Too many abilities destroy some games. Half life 1 IMO was the only game to retain the addiction element as well as give a massive ammount of movement.

Doom, was ok, but even back then, first persons were monotonous.
