yea, but make sure you are not trying to copy othe people's work exactly.. most players will spot the clone immediately.. try this site for some inspiration :

tommy14 has a good explanation on this subject

and have a look at the co-ords given, make sure that there are no overlapping brushes - the most common cause of this error, and complex brushes, such as pipes, or cones are not running into the adjasent walls

creative use of the chatterbox! never thought of that

thanks.. but its kinda hard posting new up, because you have to edit almost everything.. and whats gonna happen to the blue box?

I've started on a new project - a very cool one - which should be ready pretty soon. It should, at least, be a more original concept than the chatterbox.
:P

good luck... the box is certainly popular... i got one with id no 30 or something.. a week later i got another one and it was 250 or so!

select the object you want to hide... no need to group them, and go to view... hide selected objects..

a new entry will appear in the vis groups menu you can turn it on or off when you need to

ok, its there and i'd like to announce a new feature:

My costum content thing works now.

you can send in your textures/sounds/models/prefabs/sprites for review to : igotstuff@hlcore.tk so that other people can use them its like the map vault only for other content

true, multiplayer only gets rid of 'new game' ; 'load/save game' etc..
but i dont think that works the other way arround

you could open up valvegfxshellbtns_main.bmp and actually 'ERASE' the multiplayer menu using paint.. make sure you paint over them with black only!

play Dave jonson's ETC2 ( www.planethalflife.com/davej ) - a map that actually physically had me trembling.. getting chased by a real pissed gargantua while on 23 health and 3 clips of ammo is not exactly a stroll through the park!

i havent been terrified by a map like that since i first played Half-Life Uplink - still beats most freelance hlsp maps.

If you pot in a little more work in the scripted_sequences, you can make the grunt "punch" the "button" to open a door. The Grunt model has an animation to do this, play arround with the scripted sequences and you'll get it eventually, like i did.

another thing to note about path_corners is that the monsters stop patrolling them once they see or hear the player / combat / enemy.
