Well I had that type of idea but I found out because of certain entities that way wont work. I was told by a friend to use item_tfgoal and info_tfgoal.

Hello Im currently creating a TFC escape type map and I want to hide key's at places in the map (I already have key model) for the player to find. Once they find the key they must then find the door so the player and the rest of the team can move on to a new section. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Anyone know a good place to get models for in game objects and stuff. I tried learning milkshape but I just cant get it so I was wondering if their are any websites that offer free models or if anyone is interested in making some. All I need are like key's and stuff really easy stuff.

I just cant figure out how to do this I have read the tecture lighting tutorial about 4 times and it makes almost no sense. Can someone do a step by step on how to make the white bars in www.gotbunkered.net/school.JPG into a light.

I know how to add a switch, I know how to make it work. I dont like any of the halflife.wad light textures I just want to know how to make a bar I made that stretches the whole room emit light.

Alright I made a escape map with 16 info_player_teamspawns (might be rong type) but how do I make it so you can only be a civilian and how do I name the team/class and insert a custom picture cause I might do special model for this map.

Hi Im making a TFC escape map called school where you must escape from school. Im currently working on a classroom and I have everything done except the lights. Most of us are familiar with the classroom lights that stretch all the way across the roof. How would I go about getting that into my map. I made a long bar 1 unit thick and textured it white but I don know how to add light to it. Also how do I add a switch to turn it on and off?

plus if it didn't, all you would do is make the mirror a "monitor", and the camera facing the other direction of the mirror.

Hi I'm creating a map and I need some help with a room I need to be really dark except for a little light at the end. Their is door to walk in but I need it like completely dark even then because just a little ways in their is whole in ground and you fall. Is their any possible way to do this if not I will just use find_breakable.

I give up cycler_sprites dosent work either but on the dpb forums I have seen map with player models I believe he said he use a cycler but that freezes my map could it be the model.

I tried a scrool texture which worked perfect except one part was going rong way (easy fix). I guess Ill end up doing that.

Hl2 will have mirrors for sure because in for example in cs:source you can see people comming up behind in the awp scope the glass mirrors everything. Also the floor reflects VERY WELL.

Alright for the waterfall I created a long object going straight down the map for the water going down. I then created a pool at the top and grouped them and turned them into func_conveyor. I then copied the grouped func_conveyor put it in the exact same spot and made it a func_water.

How do I add a model to my map for dpb. I tryed using a monster_generic with no luck. The model was in dpb/models/ and I entered the path correct. I then tried using cycler andl now every time I go to load the map it freezes. I even tried adding ! before model name because on some site I heard you had to do that.The model's name is alien.mdl I got it from my tfc folder and I have seen it use in game. I places it in my dpb/models/ folder.
Maybe some of my properties for the cycler are rong.

My second question is I tried making a waterfall and Im having some trouble. I was able to get water at top of the map like a pool but it wont flow over. I have read every tutorial I can find on waterfalls but on every one at the same part Im having trouble.

Everytime I texture a wall with !toxicgrn it wont stay a wall in game. I can walk through it and it makes water noises etc. How can I keep it a solid?

The helicopter never attacked me it just kept going higher and higher till is disapeared and the grunts never appeared.

I figured out the problem right after I posted it see I was running my map in my own custom mod and I put your map in their not considering the fact that I dont have any of those models in the correct folder.

I feel like a idiot and let me explain why. Stupid me never changed the output path a my compiler so it was trying to copy my map to the old directory see I renamed my mod without change that. It works perfect now and thank you to everyone who helped. Oh and BTW Floater619 your map is awesome but for some reason none of the monsters appear I will take a look at it in a few.

Alright I created a trigger_once for the player to walk through with target "Seeing is Believing". I then more towards the middel of the map created a game_text with name "Seeing is Believing" and target "Seeing is Believing" with the Message Text "Seeing is Believing".

Well my map is a climb type map and I was using a trigger_multiple (because people can fall and come to the same point again) that would trigger env_message but I cant get it to work.
