As far as how well our maps run on Source, are we aiming for the original recommend specs? I'm doing mine in Ep 2 on a nv 9600gt, 3 ghz core2 duo, and 2 gb ram and it runs around 85 fps so I want to know if I can have those 25 fps for lunch.

Well back in early January, my computer exploded, my hardrive along with it. :heartbreak: I gratefully regret I'll will not have a new computer till next month so I'm dropping out of this one. :cry:

UNLESS you guys are planning on having this going for another month or so.

My first compile with lighting, currently adding more detail to the ceiling and walls. Gonna have some lite low level fog, and some climbing for the player to do.

For anyone that tried my map.

(Spoilers?)
Sorry, i made a couple mistakes, like I forgot to cushion the fall at the end, so In most cases you will probably end up dying from the fall, you can no clip to the bottom so you can actually finish the last trap. AFTER that I thought for sure that the blue lasers were supposed to cut off and the exit was supposed to open. So just noclip to the white box toward the back of the room for a short text ending.

Im going to fix those problems and finish polishing it,then submit it to the Vault.(I gotta do that before L4D demo comes, cause noway im getting any work done after that.)

Does anyone know how to make the players view move like what happend at
the beginging of hl2 when gorden gets knocked out by the police and when you come to, Alyx is standing over you and then you get up. Could some one please enlighten me on this.

I can't find a tutorial on use of smoothing groups. I definitly want to learn how to use the tool. That page on valve's site isn't really helpful. If anyone has some info or a link share it please.

I know in HL you had to put in a cmd to get all the texture compiled in the map. So that you could just release the bsp and custom sounds(if any)

Will in HL2 does it already do this for the custom stuff you add?

Like if I put all the CSS models and texture into the HL2 folder will I have to enter a cmd to have the CSS stuff compiled into may map.

If there is something I need to do what about sound. Is it included with the models and textures.
