Try taking out your card and running with the crappy display stuff your motherboard comes with. That will tell you. Also turn down the display options in windows and see if that helps. Also turn down your refresh rate to check if that helps too.

You spend more than an hour a day on TWHL. That pretty makes all of you except me a failure at life. Plus I can backfip and do martial arts tricks so that cancels out any time spent here.

Videogames actually lower aggression because you're blowing off steam while playing them, so it's good to play them. Just keep the kids away from adults online, because that's when the swearing starts.

well then I can't participate. I don't have enough time to map my ideas with my job and I'm not going to take a day off just to map for a mini compo. I'll take my time and make a better map with no guidelines over the span of a few weeks or so and then post it in the vault for you all to gawk at.

put the statue IN the detailed room

Um, no.
obviously you don't have a creative mind. A statue in a detailed room would add tons of aesthetic quality. If your computer can run it, I say map it.

in Advanced Brushwork Mini-Compos Post #190805
NO!!!!! We are making a detailed room right now. Post your ideas after compo 2 is over. If you want to make these things, put the statue IN the detailed room, bam instant bonus points.

The last 10 posts made me laugh so hard!

About the thread starter- I know what you're talking about, but didn't you ever think about what we DID do? We separated ourselves from mindless animals (even though we still are animals) and created technology. Just imagine, there may be life on other planets, but I sure as hell bet those planets don't have a species like us. You used a computer to type that little report up! Don't you feel lucky to be so much smarter than other animals? Don't you feel smarter than 80% of other humans who are dumb as a doorknob?

if you want the bridge to curve down and up in a parabola you have to do some basic math or some nice guess work to have it be equal

no don't add custom textures! why do you keep changing the original idea. have it be the exact same thing as above but allow for hl1 textures.
Posted 17 years ago2006-07-16 20:39:20 UTC
in Advanced Brushwork Mini-Compos Post #190400
make it the same but with any hl1 texture, this is too confined.

in Advanced Brushwork Mini-Compos Post #190260
I'm for corridor or vehicle. or we can do a compo where you can do either one, and judged altogether on creativity and brushwork.

edit: oh yeah and we need to post the results from the last one.

in Advanced Brushwork Mini-Compos Post #190174
New idea!:
The Corridor: Map a hallway of some sort, and make it as detailed as possible using advanced brushwork techniques. The hallway can be any size or shape, but the entire map is confined to that hallway. You can have doors, but they can't go anywhere. Points won't be taken off for the hallway abruptly ending at both ends.

I don't mean to burst your bubble but these are generally harder. Because we are dealing with advanced brushwork you might not be able to keep up with it. And you only have about a week so you have to already know how to do everything, no learning involved, and fast too.

Advanced Brushwork MiniCompos
this isn't advanced brushwork at all! The next compo had better be the improve a room one. With one week to map.

in Top 10 Video Game Weapons! Post #189797
You can't have a top 10 best video game weapons. There's just too many. You need a top 10 most influential video game weapons. Then the top would be shotgun from doom, crowbar from hl, awp from cs, lightsaber from any jedi game...that's all I can think of.
