Hey Andy, read the "speech for scientists and barney' forum. There's another problem on there (I put it in the wrong one). Thanks for your help in the explosion thing. The dancing scientist thing is because of the fact that they can see the monsters. By making the monsters 'prisoners' they dont do that, but when the explosion goes off the monsters just sit there.

I now have another problem (suprise suprise). I set up the map i posted plus its continuation. I linked them with the changelevel thing. It works but this is what happens
1. Facing the wrong way
2. In the next map, there are 3 scientists stuck in the floor and about 6 scientist outside the level (in the void) just standing there, plus a variety of aliens and scientists falling past them. WTF??!!! I have no idea what is going on. On the console it says stuff like 'got a velocity too low' or something like that. :confused: Rather strange...

BTW, is there any way to get the level to fade to black, display text (of my own choice) and then come back into the same level? Sorta like pausing the game

OK then all you guys have been a great help (and this site rocks!) but Im afraid I need some more help. (Keep in mind that this is my first mapping expereince and that its for school). Now for a start, what files are needed in order to post a map on this site? Please take a look when I do. Now for the problem. In the 'lab' after going down the elevator, theres a bunch of scinetists around and glass tubes (this room is unfinished). Now I want it so that when you go up the stairs to a computer and press the button, an explosion will sound, the level will change slightly and the glass tubes will explode and the monsters emerge and eat the scietists (sound familiar??). How would I go about achieveing this? Please make the respnse as simple as possible, but if you can't don't worry. Thankyou!! :)

OK how bout different actions? Like the CPR one for the scientists
Hammer 3.5 has the animation thing built in but it doesn't seem to run with the level

You were talking about scripted sentences. Is this needed so that everytime you 'use' them they say stuff like "Sorry Mr Freeman Im on duty" or "Why do we have to wear these ridicules ties"

How do you make it so that the chracters in the game speak as in before the experiment? As in the no disaster has occured yet. Is there any way to have specific speech for certain chracters? Is there a way to view all the speech available to the specific character? I'm relatively new to mapping so please help me out!
