Lets face it. Gordon doesn't need to speak, his crowbar does all the talking. I will admit that bashing in some poor headcrab or combine's face in was much more pleasurable with the physics system

And as for Mario, please! All he did was take the wrong directions and went to every other castle before actually finding the right one!!

Yeah, camera in Goldsource is really buggy and difficult to work with. You are right about the player model having the model inverted when looking up and down. You car tell when you type 'thirdperson' in the console

This is really bizarre. I really didn't see any difference in the amount of gore from the first game, then again, I suppose they may have done something we haven't seen.
This is almost as funny as when Fallout 3 was banned because the Med-X was originally called morphine.
Yeah, Fallout 3 was banned in Australia because of the detailed drug references and use. They ended up changing the names of the drugs and also adjusting the benifits/side-effects from becoming addicted.

And C_striker, yes, this is only really fiction right now. But such a thing could be totally possible. The movie '28 days later' is a good example, a virus that causes a massive unbalance in hormones and shuts down higher brain functions is, while yet unknown, is totally plausible as there are many viruses AND drugs that do exactly the same thing, just not on such an extreme level. And the virus is transmitted through blood or saliva and infects within seconds, sounds alot like the good old ebola virus that still lingers deep within Africa. If that get's to a populated area we are all fucked. The good news is that it infects and kills too quickly, so it would be hard for it to get off a continent.

Haha, well, we shall see about that, mind that would be a fun game. Play a guy in a wheelchair. Anyway, back on topic. I have found a much more effective method for me to map. The main reason I take a long time to finish a map is because my mind wanders to other things and i want to build them before I forget. So I resorted to building individual rooms and joining them at a later date. Here is the latest one, whipped up in a few hours:

I think he is referring to when the original Half-Life was released:
Well, its only taken almost 11 years, but it looks like Black Mesa will be the first Half-Life related game to have every single character to have a unique face.

I used to dislike the idea of Torrenting music...I prefered to buy it ligit...but now I use it download music for songs that are not released yet, ei, Billy Talent 3 which you cannot buy in Australia yet, and I got it before it was even released in America. And also songs that are too old that nobody will have them...like pre 2000...or I can't find it in our really good local music shop...

I'd also like to point out that Yodalman's picture uses...squares? I'm sure that source uses triangles as ALL ground based polygons use now, even we use them in Half-Life one...

However, how long until Yodalman comes back as someone else?

On another note, I haven't played this mod although i did see it when it first got released. You guys all say is mostly worth it so I'll have a look when the improved version is released...bring on the 400mb download!! :glad:

in Spawning a NPC from template Post #272395
I have a 'npc_template_maker' that is using a combine soldier as a template. I want it to spawn an unlimited number of them but only allow one to live at a time before spawning the next one. I can't get it to work. A trigger_once is targeting the 'npc_template_maker' via 'toggle' input. The 'npc_template_maker' properties are as follows:

Name: wave_level1
Start Disabled?: No
Num, of NPCs: 3000
Max live NPCs: 1
Name of template NPC: combine_template02

Wow, i missed that entire thread :\ reading it makes me what to put a gun to my head and pull the trigger...

(sorry i've been bogged down at work the last few days to actually log on.)

The fact is you can't be impartial in real life. Prime example happened to me yesterday. A girl left the room because she didn't like the way her coworker spoke to her but she left a resident and her coworker in a dangerous situation. Who's side am i supposed to take? They are both wrong and right in different ways.
The "Rowleybob incident" was before my time.
God, I remember that...such a shame, I can't even contact Rowleybob anymore. I sent an email a week ago and never got a reply :/
