in importing Player animations to NPC...nee Post #315246
Any ninjas out there that could help with my question?

We have been working long and hard and have come so far with our new HL1 mod project (will post details later next week).

Right now we are trying to get a great NPC model rigged with player animations for our multiplayer.

My question is: when converting npc models into player models, how do i import a standard hl skeleton into the npc model so that the animations will compile properly? and is there a way to dump the studiomdl compiler errors to a notepad .txt file? because currently im not sure what the illegal error is

Thanks for your help guys

trempler told me to make a small null texture brush and set to func_toggle_wall. then surround the weapon with the trigger_once brush. it works until you run over the actual null_texture.

Alberto

It didn't work. the equip command cannot be used as a pickup item in games..only at spawn from what i have learned.

Back to the drawing board :/

Okay, so i am trying to make a weapon model in a map float but using func_illusionary with null texture isnt doing the trick. Is there a way to create this affect without it blocking and without the weapons spawning on floor?

in Goldsrc Movement coding problem Post #314669
Hi everyone,

currently, we are working on a HL1 mod and have run into a stumbling block. We are trying to add a new type of movement (dodging:left, right, forward, back) but once we introduce fakelag, the prediction is off.

Our question is: Is it possible to extend hl1 pmove and prediction systems to add custom movement?

Anyone who knows or knows someone who might know, we could really use your help finding a workthrough for this.

Thanks for your time,

Jeremy

sup hotdog!

We would love the help. I have seen your mapping skills and having your help would be awesome. The maps were are trying to create need to fit and play well for 4vs4 teamplay.

Here is our current maplist that play well for 4vs4. Although some maps like datacore, cross, and rapidcore are not what we are looking for, they are still too important to remove from the league

awol
boot_camp
enchanted
cold_faces
crossfire
datacore
doublecross
echo
elixir
endcamp
gasworks
havoc
homeworld
isotonic
lost_village
moss
olividada_muerte
rapidcore
rustmill
scary_1
semonz
snark_pit
stalkx
stalkyard
vengeance

Maps like havoc, cold_faces, awol, boot_camp are great teamplay maps. It might be a good place to gather inspiration from while using your creativity.

If you are serious about the help, let me know the best way to be in contact with you. My steam name is intangible and you can email me at jeremy@jeremymerriam.com

Thanks!

wow, thats really kind, Rufee.

You might be familiar with the HLDM player iT. He is one of the DMLeague team helping to grow the HL competitive scene again.

Maybe if this is something you could seriously do, I can put you in touch with Dean aka iT and discuss having a HLDM server up with the name dmleague.com and the maps currently in the league. We have been toying with the idea to get people over from HLDM and into AGHL (same game just with match starts and other gamemodes like arena).

Does the lengendary Docrock still around? I would love to get him attempt to make a teamplay map with his mapping style. Damn, i am sure there are still a lot of great mappers. i was browsing the hl map section and some of the stuff people were doing for contests is really amazing. lol, i was just trying some pool map with a slide. Not really for DM, but it just shows there are skilled mappers still around.

Hi everyone

My name is jeremy but I am known as intangible in the HL/AG(adrenalinegamer) scene. Currently, there are 4 of us who revived my old gaming league called Deathmatch League. It started back in 03. Back in the day, we only did custom maps, which was a real blast. We eventually switched gears and started doing some of the valve maps plus more competitive maps.

The reason I am here is to see if anyone has been working on good teamplay maps or would be willing to help make 1 or 2 for the league. Basically, we need maps that fit in with the 2vs2 or 4vs4 format. Feel free to email me at jeremy@jeremymerriam.com or respond here. I would love to hear from you guys. I am sure some of the "old timers" are still around who have made some amazing F'ing maps back in the day I played on. Feel free to check out our DMLeague forum at dmleague.com/forums

Looking forward to hearing from you,

J
