Excellent. But considering the shear scale of this project we must need alot of well-comitted members.

Garg, I'll try my best to send you them. (Remember though, they were pretty rushed together and not done nearly as good as wad packages should be - there are some apparent duplicate textures that only appear in hammer's texture browser - I hate to think the cause of that. Also, they are farely large in size.)

Or, actually, shall I go through the wads and make sure they are fine. Maybe delete the more un-necessary ones and keep the good ones. That should keep the size down aswell. If I dont send them to you today/tonight, I'll make sure I send them to you tomorrow.

And also, what really hinders my efforts is the fact that I'm still on bloody dial-up, which is a bit crappy really. But, fear not, for I think I may be soon install for broadband.

P.s. Mind if I show you some eye-candy : ?

It's just some tech/space kind of map I was doing, all the textures are my own aswell... It isn't properly compiled because I havent made any lights yet, so I used all the fog to cover it up and make it look compiled ;)

Nah, unfortunately it got lost or deleted years ago. I vaguely remember the general layout of it, it was cool at the time though. I have two screens of my first map that I actually managed to be able to use scripted sequences and so on: (I consider the map pretty old)

lol. Looking back everything seemed so blocky, I wonder why. Actually I was really proud of my achievements in this :) Anyway, you press the button and you get a trigger_camera view of a door opening you need to get through. Barney walks out of it immediately and you can see him walk all the way round, down another corridor and through some other door...

Those textures? Well a while ago I put together a concoction of different textures that I liked from other wads aswell as some of my own. I made two wads, 'Lifeless01' and 'Lifeless02'. They were really hurridly put together, though I hate them and want them to blow up and die! :x

Also, ZL, I like the background imagery in your logo. They remind me of two metal claws or talons

Anyway, yeah we could start it off in hl and finish it in hl2. See how it plays etc.

Nice one for that Garguntua ;) I could understand the legend aswell :D

Yeah, I invisioned the perimeter fence to be square aswell (round would be harder to map).

I mapped a kind of train-exit thing that loks very city-like. I haven't rendered it yet, so I cant really post some screens. I also got kind of stuck with it, because Im actually not very good at mapping trains -- and the ones on prefabland either aren't that great or the zip's bust.

There is also this apartment building (interior) I made and also a sort of ghetto-like area with graffitied walls and stuff.

Here are an example of the graffiti stuff I used in this multiplayer map I made a while ago called 'city-in-ruins'

VERC, I mean, It's full of valve-wanna-be's and suck-up-to-valve types who will critisize anyone who is outside of their elitist collective.

P.s. Pepper is right, that's why there is an aptly-named 'stuff' forum for general discussion. So in actual fact Seventh did no harm whatsoever in creating the religion, ethics and morals thread. I could created a thread called 'Farming Methods of the Yesturyear' and it will probably turn into a heated debate. Do not be afraid of debate, debate is a skill everyone should learn.
also, whats wrong with having a friendly discusion. As long as it doesn't get out of hand as it did.
Now I aint even gonna say something about that -- wise words from 'BrattyLord'....... :

I disagree whole-heartedly.

First of all, seventh started the thread, second of all, what's wrong with having off-beat discussions occasionally. If all we ever talked about was hl 24/7 I'd be put off hl and probably never come here.

Also, how insulting of you to use VERC as a good example of anything.

I tried created my VERY first map, a large room with a glass walkway that goes through it. But because I didn't at that time understand how bad carving and hollowing is, and the fact that a hl room shouldnt be so big, It, today, would be full of fatal flaws.

But having said that it played suprisingly well and I cant seem to make that old magic appear again. :(

Heh, well as for that map, well I challenged myself to work on it only using babtech_ textures, only I cheated a little bit by using some other rust texture. And the pipes are messed up I know. ;) Also there is an invisible barrier which isnt even in hammer, I've checked to see if I left a clip brush on hide but I didn't. The only clip brushes I used were four in that main room you see in the screen, they dont even extend out and block anywhere... weird.

Pepper, we definately need to recruit some members, we need texture artists, modellers, mappers, sound peeps, etc... :

i vote that we send RabidMonkey777 in with a bunch of survailence equipment in though the vents to find out whats down there. anyone else besides hime live near Denver. I would go in but i live very far away.
I think you'd have to be highly insane to perform such a thing. Let's say you'll be cruisin' for a bruisin' -- or actually a bit more than a bruise, maybe a bullet in the head.

As for the school where the children got sick and the ley lines -- what I find interesting about that is the fact that every gothic structure, church, cathedral, school, other public buildings etc are almost always built on top of the crossing point of two ley lines (the earth's energy grid). The reason for this is clear. Any negative ritual that takes place on those particular points resinates that negative energy throughout the entire energy grid, thus creating specific emotions that allow us to maintain our positions in the vibrational prison. Satanic ritual always takes place on these crossing points. Sacrifice of children, animals, and adults alike take place on these points also.

Denver, and the whole area of colarado is a hugely negative place indeed. For those of you who think that satanism is just a popularised, rebellious anti-religion performed by people who are doing it because they want to be cool and different, well I tell you that satanism is far from it. Satanic ritual takes place evrywhere, in your country, town, village, church, cathedral, probably even museum. Most famous people and people we asscociate with politics such as Ted Heath are heavily involved. It is also a way of contacting the reptilians (demons) in the lower fourth dimension. People often report people appearing to 'shape-shift' into reptilian form during these rituals and especially during ancient 'sex' rite rituals performed by the satanic global network.

I can almost guarantee that someone you know or have known may be involved with Satanism. Most catholic priests, evangelists etc are Satanists. The comedian Bob Hope was a satanist, so too was Frank Sinatra, the list goes on. Our preisdents, Governments, MPs, Doctors, Teachers etc are mostly satanists. Satanism is rife, it happens everywhere, and the only way to bring this to light as it were is to stop allowing it to happen by ignoring the fact. Many children are born identity-less so that they can be used for ritual. If you dont have an identity you dont officially exist therefore such attrocities will go un-noticed. It's not at all a laughing matter, it's not a joke, nor is it bullshit.

Yea I've seen 28 Days Later, and Dogsoldiers etc. Good, but will never be as great as the classic Romero films.

Yea there needs to be a site, thats a definate. Only problem, "I'm bloody useless at all things cough technical, such as website creation" so if your willing enough to help out there, then great.

Also, I have edited parts of the original background story for the mod. I think it's flawless at the moment, but see what you think...
Your name is [insert name here], once a researcher working on the original project. But after the project?s failure, and the widespread panic as the epidemic became unstable, you are told that you are responsible for any damages that have taken place. You are then taken away and accused of being actively responsible for means of terrorism, corruption, and espionage. As a convicted criminal, you are then sent to the product of the project?s failure, Fallen Wing City as a contestant. You, and several other convicted criminals, are then taken away in blindfold and handcuffs to a military transport helicopter, which then transports you to a rooftop of an un-known building selected at random somewhere in Fallen Wing City. All blindfolds and handcuffs are then removed as the guards quickly return to the helicopter and exit the city. You, and the other contestants are left estranged, confused, and afraid as to what one might expect. Without any suitable means of defence, you cautiously follow the others as they find a door leading to the building. You prepare yourself for the worse.

As though it seemed expected, the surprise and terror of encountering hordes of zombies is not quite as immense as the others. Three out of the seven contestants are out-numbered, killed and eaten, and a further two are also devoured after trying to rescue the other contestants. You quickly hurry towards a flight of stairs leading down towards the building exit, where you fend off several stray zombies awaiting their human prey?
Upload some new screenies, well unfortunately, due to lack of decent textures, my progress on this is kind of hindered. But, I can show you a screenshots of my up-coming map based on the old Doom II level 'Tower of Babel'. Just thought I'd have a break worrying about the project for a bit.

Pepper: This is the next thing we need to discuss, because at the moment its a case of melee weaponry such as chair legs stool legs pipes planks screwdrivers axes knives etc. Then, if you are lucky you'll find firearms such as a standard handgun, then a colt 45. etc.

Characters and stuff, that needs looking at. I'm not sure if we even have a list of names of the main characters involved yet, but I'll try and work something out. But we do need grunt/soldier type guards with protection suits against the virus. At the beginning you see an intro of the experimentation -- so I guess we need cleansuit scientists etc.
There also needs to be a dark coloured millitary transport helicopter for the other intro -- the one where you are taken to Fallen Wing city.

Buildings, well, till hl2 comes out, I cant really say much about mapping and prefabs, props etc.
