Thanks for the feedback guys. Pipes are way smoother. Going to work on props in the desert. Bones and such. Page is updated by the way.

Get GCFScape, turn off Steam, open Counter-Strike.gcf in your SteamApps folder and extract the .wad files.

Doh, low poly pipes + lighting = unsmooth looking pipes. Would a displacement be a good substitute for pipes? I went for the empty and dark desert at night look, but I keep feeling I need something.

Because I've no idea how to make smoother pipes. I've read a guide on it somewhere, but that was long ago... Any suggestions on how to fix this?

If anyone remembers my Sven-Coop map project titled PANDEMIC, here it is again. Except it's going to be a Source Mod. Not huge modifications, small things like weapon additions and stuff like that. It's mostly mapping. I've been working on this for a bit. Here is a link to a page of screenshots: http://home.comcast.net/~intboolfloat/pandemic/ . Feedback and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah you're right, my method only worked in pre-1.6 cs. Can't think of any other way honestly.

in PC gamers are stupid Post #174044
The only reason CS has idiots is because it's popular. As games attract more people, you're bound to get idiots. Though, in my opinion, I think CS is one of the best communities (well, kind of). Sure, it's almost all idiots, but you can find one friendly person in a server and people actually talk. If you play any other online first person shooter, the chat channel is like dead.

I've actually experimented with this. Just as long as your walls are double layered, that is two brushes, bullets won't go through. As long as there is only one brush, bullets will go through. I've tried this by making a 256 unit thick wall and putting a hostage behind it. The Desert Eagle and all the rifles shot through it, but split it in half, and it blocks.

in Firefox vs Opera vs IE va whatever else Post #171971
I like Firefox for its simplicity and ease of use and its so much faster than internet explorer. Although I've never tried Opera, it looks like an excellent browser too but like I said before, I prefer simplicity, I'd rather not have IRC and e-mail and a browser all in one. Looks almost identical to Firefox. I think I'll try it anyway.

Your rmf directory might be different than your map directory. Check your options window.

in Virus making, why? Post #161348
Actually, a lot of those anti-virus workers probably used to be virus creators. Most people hack for the challenge and do not ever do any harm. The bad hackers gave hackers a bad image.

What a fucktard. Worse than joe lieberman. IMO, if they think videogames have a bad influence on children, they should also be trying to ban tv which is just retarded.

Player 1:My score is better than yours, 60-0, better ratio.
Player 2:Ratio of 60-0 is an imaginary number, infinity, therefore your score is imaginary and does not exist. Whereas my score of 1-99 does exist so my score is infinitely better than your score.
Player 1:Shut up.

The best was FF7. 8 was pretty cool but i liked 7 better. 4,5 and 6 were pretty excellent too. 10 was okay. 11 kinda sucked. 1,2 and 3 i never really got into. I never really played 9 mainly because of the fact that the main characters where kids which seems kinda weird.

Take a walk outisde, i guarentee you, you will get ideas. If you don't go watch a movie or read a book.(like captain p said). Or you can think of a theme for a map (like ancient egypt) and do some research. Look more closely at the world and you will notice things you haven't before, this helps greatly when i wonder how to design my map.
