Hi!
I've been a long time mapper but since about a week, Hammer makes my whole computer freeze and I have to hard-reboot it with the Reset button. I did not change anything to my specs, nor my software.
Thanks for your support guys,
Tolarian

What exactly are you doing when it freezes? Is it as soon as you launch it or opening a specific map?

Hi!
The freeze is random. It can happen while I'm editing a map or when it's idle for a bit. It gets strangier every time I use it.... It just froze with Hammer closed (but I used it previously) and I was editing in Wally.

What I had open at the time was: Winamp, HLSW, Wally, F@H, AIM, Firewall, Antivirus and Firefox. I have previously tried closing all the following apps (except firewall and antivirus) to see if the lockups would still happen and I'll try again.

Thanks for the quick response,
Tolarian

Weird, I would of said if it happened during compile, to let the compile finish...But this, it's never happened to me to my knowledge.

If its random then theres nothing you can change. Everything crashes on me every so often.

I'll no longer be an atheist when computers run smoothly without crashing intermittently. It's just like a part of life for me, like catching the flu or getting food poisoning every now and then.

Very strange. Try 3.4 if you're using 3.5b, or vice-versa. As for the Steam bit, I'd say try reinstalling, and contacting Steam's support.
