Is there any easy way to split a normal image up to a half-life mod background for steam? (you know 12 tga images)

With an image editing program?

I suggest Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, The GIMP, or even IrfanView (although that'd be a bit fiddly as it's intended as a viewer).
