Okay, I've got a trigger once targeting four metropolice to begin their rappel (and yes, the 'waiting to rappel' flag is checked) They are above a func_breakable_surf with the BreakOnTouch flag on, so it smashes when they hit it. But when I walk through my trigger_once, nothing happens. Any ideas? PS the func_breakable_surf's are at an angle, if that might have anything to do with it.

Hmm have you tested without the glass e.g. make another test map.

That's what I thought, but I want them crashing through the glass just for the effect. Any idea how it could be done?

When the metropolice come down on a rope. It happens quite early on in HL2.

I never saw it used funny enough excpet maybeonce when your in some sewers and they rappel down as you walk towards the light.

They use it in Water Hazard, they drop down from bridges (and at other times too).

The rappeling occurred quite a few times (especially during the Water Hazard level). I also used it in my map (sp_justice).

What if you use the same trigger to have the output to induce an env_explosion to break the func_breakable first, so the rappeling police can go through?

No just put a trigger_once right before the cops crash threw the glass (func_breakable) and trigger it to break on start touch.

I made a test map with straight, horizontal glass 1 unit thick, and it works fine. I'll try it with the slanted glass soon. Thanks for your help though.

You could have like seperate triggers for each piece of glass so it looked they are breaking 1by1.

I'm trying to make three guards rappel out of thin air, but i want them to be invisable until i trigger them, how do i hide them from veiw?

tried to use npc_maker, disabled it and set the trigger_once to spawn the maker using the rappel guard i created as a template. this solved the problem of making him invisable but when he spawns he drops to the ground with out rappeling. have even added an output to the maker to rappel the guard on spawn but still he does'nt do it. Any ideas would be very helpful coz this is bugging me silly... might be the way i've got it configured as i am new to this.

Anyone here map editing in there dreams, keep on coming up with great ideas for rooms and stuff in my sleep. am i the only one???
