Let's have a little comparison, partly so I can figure out what parts of my system to have a tinker with.
I got 5532 3DMarks on '03 flat-out, CPU at 2.32GHz and 11932 on 2001 at 2.24GHz (had turned it down and forgotten) with a RADEON 9800 at stock speeds and 1024MiB of DDR2700.
Any contenders?

Righty-o, got 13576 in 2001 with pretty much nothing running (it's insane, the kernel and critical services took 128MiB ? and people actually run with that much RAM!?)
